No idea what caused that bug, but it needs to be figured out in a hurry. That save is now garbage and unplayable, and I'm not starting a new game and dumping scores of hours into it just to have the cash register break my game again. I'll keep an eye out for patch notes saying this has been fixed. Not touching it until I see it.
Yes I had this twice, had to restart the whole game over again & again, I'm just glad at the time i only had 3 or 4 rooms open not like I am now with all 20 and a full shop full of
stock worth about 50+ grand. Bu I have stopped playing as my last $8,000 order arrived
with all boxes empty but every box had pictures on them. I will see if things improve at later date as I do like the game just can not recommend it to my friends.
I know having a poster beside the POS would cause that, i think its due to the limitations of making sure your not selling items off the shelf when someone comes up to the counter.
Try moving stuff away from it.
My cash register is isolated completely by itself right by the door. All my shelves are along the walls and nowhere even remotely close to the cash register. Not to mention all of those things have always been in the same positions, and nothing was moved or added. Had been working just fine for 20+ hours of game time. Something broke it all of a sudden.
What it seems like to me is that the game is somehow registering that I have something in my hand and when I try to interact with the register to do a checkout it's thinking I'm trying to place something on it. But that still doesn't explain the customers being stuck. Because normally if you make them wait for too long their patience meter runs out and they leave. That isn't happening. They just keep milling around the shop forever.
Ok i had this problem too.
How i did fix this.. it was little bit work, but it worked... make sure you have some money to pay your staff or pay them and fire them. Next i took all off like everything (with your computer) motel, shop and gas station (i did take motel down just to see if it resets the 00:00 renting problem and well in time it did. So those 2 rooms i had with customers didnt leave for long time and after reset they left. But this wasnt full reset i made, i made bus reset and i turned electricity off whole motel (from the switch).
I let it be awhile to see if shop would clear all customers. Well i had no patience to wait more than to see its actually working and reduced from 100 roaming customers to under 20 and i started everything again. Well the shop cashiers still had problems, they worked mostly awhile after i fired them and hired back, but they bugged out quite fast. For this i changed location of register MANY times and i find out that even tho they have their line up box, give them more room (dont have them too close to any shelf or wall) and they will work properly.
EDIT:
Even tho this works for the problem, but problem comes back. I dont think its worker problem, but all those people somehow bugs out cashier and worker cant work on it, i cant work either, so its cashier, not the worker problem. Maybe its cuz there is way too many people in store in general.. never upgrade second bus could be the solution, little less people at motel, less people at shop, less likelly bugs out... Also parking space for shop could be limited for little less, i dont know how much this effects, probably not as much as bus stop...maybe.. i havent tried it. Its all just theory. I might play another game after and test it out. If you are interested check back later.. this game isnt finished yet and it got me to full upgrade around 30 hours, but not all rooms decorated yet since im having this problem and i spend alot of time trying to figure it out.
We could use reset customer button.. also have button that we could max customer in shop, rest could hang out on benches or close to shop, but not blocking drive way or shop doors.
Another edit:
Second time closing shop and electricity didnt do anything, so i might just close shop for rest of the game and try 1 bus stop only to limit how many people coming in, popularity is out of hand in this game, having both 5 star giving more problems than 3 stars.
Cars seem to get stuck alot aswell.. i dont like driving simulators... but its nice to have that damn wheel, sadly you dont have one for customers.. not wheel but maybe boot or something, go using boot all over your shop and kick them out! Another minigame!
