Here's evert you need to know to get Earth 2150 working after installing it.

-How to get in game videos and cut scenes to work.
Use the in steam app to browse to files function.
Set both exe files in Windows XP second edition compatible mode.
"Do not check anything else."

-In game sounds.
Click run and select Graphics to launch the Earth 2150 settings screen.
Under sound use the setting software mode.

-Crash when using vehicle design screen.
From the Earth 2150 Graphics screen.
Use the OpenGL Optional Setting.

-Mouse Dragging to the bottom right side of the screen.
Use the second from the bottom screen resolution setting.

There you go no need for outside patches or anything.
Took me a single day to figure everything out.
