Patch it for what? I haven't ran into any problems.

All the old posts were about how it crashed a lot because Steam didn't have the latest patch.

Well I would venture to say they must have. I bought it last week and haven't had any crashes. Works just great with 64bit Win7

For me it crashes every ten minutes or so.... it's very annoying and makes the game difficult to play.

Most crashes in most games are caused by the video card. New drivers may solve the problem. Even the sound card can do that. A way to check the sound card is to run the program without sound and see if it still crashes.

Other than that I don't know. Good luck.

yes it crashes for me on my new i5 with GTX660
it did NOT crash for me running XP on my imac

question, would i need to remove the sound card or just not plug anything in to it?
same thing for video, could i use the onboard without removing the video card to see if that is the problem? or does it still run signal through the cards even if they are not being used.
i have a ASUS XONAR GTX
