I havent had any issues with it so no clue really, I got my game key for EIC Gold from another website before adding it to steam so maybe it's just steams version :/.

I have the same problem with the DLC on Steam. I have a DVD with the East India Company Collection that has the basic game and all the expansions on it. The game and all the expansions on the DVD work, so it is a mystery why the DLC does not work on Steam. :xcom2ranger:

Hey guys, so I was experiencing the same issue and after missing with it for a bit, I got it to function and here is what I did. So:

1: First, I went to the folder location within the steam app on my computer (D:\Steam\steamapps\common\East India Company and to note, I also installed it seperate from the C drive) and

2: Went to the CRT folder and manually installed the "vcredist_x64.exe" and "vcredist_x86.exe" visual studio 2008 files there and then ran their repair options after manually installing.
- To do this, just double click and run one of them. After it is installed, double click the other
and it will open the maintenance GUI to either repair or uninstall. Click repair and next.

3: When this is done, then go back to the main East India Company folder and proceed to the DirectX folder. In this folder, scroll down until you get to "DWSETUP.exe" and run it.

When this is done you should be able to play the game. I was able too. Hope it works for you cause overall, it is a pretty cool game that I come back to from time to time. :)

I dont know of one unfortunately. I've heard the amazon version works, and personally I also somehow own the steam gold edition (East India Company Gold) which has the dlc and works. I know its not the answer you want, but at least its something eh?

Edit: East India Company Gold is no longer actively sold by steam, so you might have to look through some 3rd party seller for it

I have some of these, or all of them. It's my 3rd purchase of the game, 2nd from Steam related download gaming companies..
Now I am playing the base game and it won't save at all. Appears to when I manually save it, but it all vanishes and shows me ancient games from 2018 and 2017 which I thought I'd deleted long ago. I have tried reinstalling the game after entirely deleting it, to no avail.

Unless I play an entire game all the way through (and I am lucky enough that it won't crash and close while I am playing it, then I am unable to play at all, unless to start over again and again every time I play.

Where are the save games? None of the folders which have the name 'save games' have any files in at all.

Yemach_Shemo, what version of the game are you looking for the saves from? One of the steam versions? The disc version?

It's from the Steam Version. I may change my download folder and try again, but I also now know that it doesn't work (or mostly doesn't work) with any OS after Vista, and it prefers XP.
