1: First, I went to the folder location within the steam app on my computer (D:\Steam\steamapps\common\East India Company and to note, I also installed it seperate from the C drive) and
2: Went to the CRT folder and manually installed the "vcredist_x64.exe" and "vcredist_x86.exe" visual studio 2008 files there and then ran their repair options after manually installing.
- To do this, just double click and run one of them. After it is installed, double click the other
and it will open the maintenance GUI to either repair or uninstall. Click repair and next.
3: When this is done, then go back to the main East India Company folder and proceed to the DirectX folder. In this folder, scroll down until you get to "DWSETUP.exe" and run it.
When this is done you should be able to play the game. I was able too. Hope it works for you cause overall, it is a pretty cool game that I come back to from time to time. :)
