Looking to run some extinction just got the game to try and reminisce

I recently reinstalled my entire operating system, and it plays for like 5 minutes and then freezes. I have tried restarting the game, making sure my graphics card is up to date, disabling DEP, and making sure it goes through the firewall. I am currently lost on how to fix it....
