Fixing game + video playback on Steam Deck

On my Steam Deck OLED the game is unplayable out of the box. The videos don't play and the menus don't render correctly, showing a strange, all-white garbled mess.

To fix the game on the Deck, follow the steps below. After following them, everything will work perfectly, including the videos.

1. On the Deck, go to Desktop Mode.
   
2. In desktop mode, open the Discover store install ProtonTricks and ProtonUp-Qt
   
3. In ProtonUp-Qt choose Steam from the drop-down menu, click "add version" and select GE-Proton8-32
   
4. After that proton version is installed, close ProtonUp-Qt
   
5. On Steam, change compatibility settings of the game to force the use of GE-Proton8-32.
   
6. Run the game once, wait for it to load fully and then quit. At this time, the videos will not render, only their sounds. For me, the menus also don't render properly.
   
7. After closing the game, run ProtonTricks in desktop mode and select Alone in the Dark from the list of games.
   
8. After ProtonTricks loads, click on the "Select the default wine prefix" option and click OK.
   
9. Then, select "change settings" and click ok.
   
10. On the next screen, scroll down and mark the checkbox that says "renderer=gdi" option and click ok.
    
11. After that, exit out of ProtonTricks, and return to game mode.
    
12. Launch the game from Game Mode and now it will work flawlessly, including the videos.
