Crafters break storage carts.
I created some crafters. I don't have any trees for them to do anything with yet. However, now that they exist, my storage cart just sits there. It is never filled. Nothing is put into it. Even if I manually send it, it just comes back and sits there, empty while things back up forever on the conveyors.

As far as I can see, it only puts the wands in the storages from the point you buy it. It doens't put the refined crystals in the minecarts anymore. The minecarts also have to be sent manually every time from now on.

Oh I am just a bit too tired after a full day of release management so I did not really read the post correctly. Yes what is described is the intended behaviour. When you have added crafters on a tile the storage cart will no longer pickup gems or sticks from it only wands. So you need to make sure you provide a good flow of both so the wizard can craft wands for you. Or you can add some more grinders to the side and not add crafter to them and let the gems spill over and be picked up there

You can work around it by expanding left/right. It's not ideal but lanes without a crafter will still load regular gems/wood.

/edit Since that's apparently WAI, it would be handy to be able to toggle it in someway to start picking up regular gems/wood that has piled up.

It would require building things in a weird order and a bit of bad luck but you could definitely brick your save the way it is now.

This definitely should be made as on/off switch. Or atleast delete button. I have added grinders too the left and right and spillage isn't enough to take the middle part and now my minecarts are stuck without going furthere because there is huge traffic and nothing is moving.

Echoing the above post too ---

This is way misleading. I ended up bricking a demo save without realizing this is what was going on and everything ground to a halt since I added wood pickup to every spot.

IMO this needs to be toggle-able, allow both, or make each unique so they cannot overlap with one another.

I had this same problem. another thing I dont understand is why the storage cart leaves before its full every time. im backed up with a ton of ore but the cart just collects a small amount and leaves immediately.

I did expand 100 left and right without wizards but still have a huge pileup of gems in the middle. I am not sure spillage does work and shifts the gems to other storage units. I maxed out the train but right now it seems to load to slow. About 100 rail car lines are unable to unload. Not sure how to solve this ^^. An option to toogle the wizards on and off would really help to sell raw stuff if needed :)

expanding doesn't fix the issue. only two carts come out of right tunnel. wasted hours on a broken save. not going to start another game with fatal bugs. let me know when it works again. Really sucks. Game could be really good if not for game breaking bugs.
