you said it. there is a tip in-game that warns about the permanence of horror marks and curses.
If you just came to vent then carry on.
Keep in mind, most Horror's have weapons or attacks that mark the unit struck in addition to whatever else they do, so every attack is just adding more marks.
Basically, your pretender is perma-dead. This is one of the reasons you typically try and keep your pretender away from anything that can curse or mark them. Horror mark won't kill anyone right away, but over the long term it is an absolute death sentence.
