Death weapons and flaming weapons question
How do they work exactly? I understand that the flaming weapons give +6 AP damage and that the death weapons give +2 AN damage? But is it an additional separate attack? Or is it on top of the main weapon damage? What if a unit has 2 or 3 weapons? Does the effect apply to all? If it is on top of the main weapon damage and not a separate attack, how does this damage stack? Say, the main weapon has non-magical 10 damage? How will the damage be calculated? What is even more interesting to me is how damage will be calculated against an ethereal opponent. Will now my weapons be considered magical 100% of the time? or that non-magical 10 damage will hit with the usual 25% chance of success and only 2 AN or 6 AP damage will be applied in case of my attack roll being higher than the defending unit's defence roll?

How does damage stack if I have both death weapons and flaming weapons bless?

Which effect is more powerful/effective per se, that is, without taking into account accompanying +4 Attack and +10 Undying hit points?

It's a separate damage (though it uses the same hit roll as far as I know) and as far as I know it applies to each weapon. I can't answer the question about ethereal enemies.

I'd say that generally D9 is better. A minor fire bless is good, but the major bless suffers from low damage since armor works against it. It can be very effective against enemies with low protection, but you'll rarely need a lot of help with killing them anyway.

Late better than never? I'm playing this game again so this is relevant to some friends of mine.

The fire weapon bless counts as magic for its own hit with ethereal and invulnerability, but it doesn't make the main weapon a magic weapon.

In other words if you shoot flaming death arrows with a non magic bow those arrows will NOT be magical. The fire attack has its own damage mechanic and can hit ethereal. The Death attack has its own damage mechanic and can hit ethereal.

Most people I have talked to think Death weapons are worse because you can resist the damage entirely.

I think death weapons are broken. Watching detailed rolls of massive numbers of hits, the death magic only proc’d when enough damage was done to kill outright.
