Dominions 4 "Bad Serial Key"

Hey so I've got dominions 4, played 41 hours of it on my steam account. It's great, but even though I have it legit, I've never had to enter a key. Now ever since the new update, when I try to play it it just crashes with an error saying "Bad Serial Key". Any idea what happened?

During install Steam version automatically put file Dom4key into appropriate folder (for me it's C:\Users\[user name]\AppData\Roaming\Dominions4). Maybe it got corrupted somehow? Try to check local files (Library - Dominions 4 - Right click - Properties - Local Files - Verify integrity). If it will not work - try to uninstall the game completely, delete key file if it still remain then reinstall everything back?

Same thing happeed to me on the 4.20 update a while ago. I emailed Illwinter and they released an update within 1 or 2 days. I was not the only one with the problem but it wasn't a large group either. They just need to know there is a problem.

Aye Illwinter is great at fixing these problems luckily. Send them a message detailing as much as you can about your key / problem.

Message already sent, and that's good to hear.
Also yeah I checked the file integrity, un-installed, and re-installed.
Well hopefully it's fixed. My room mate (who also has the game) is having the same issue today as well.

They are asking me to send them a copy of my cd key. I can't even find it through steam and they didn't tell me how to do so. I'm at a complete loss as of what to do.

Right click on Dom 4 in your list. Choose browse files. You get alist of fies. choose disk key. Mine was fifth from top. Hope this helps
