Your prophet can claim thrones.
In addition, if your pretender has Air or Astral magic, there are rituals that allow them to teleport around the map, namely Teleport, Gateway, and Cloud Trapezee.
Any level 3 priest can claim thrones. Several nations have recruitable level 3 priests, such as Mictlan and Agartha (not LA).

Other ways to claim thrones are to forge artifacts that boost holy levels or summon an underwater Bishop Fish and give him an air-breathing item.

These spells, however, do not work on pretenders that are very immobile.

Like what? I totally teleported my Monolith around before. Is there some change in rules recently?

I would imagine that the fountains are very immobile.

Well, I checked description, and there is no any non-hidden "very immobile" attribute for the fountains. *shrugs*

Incorrect: as the other posters stated, teleportation-type spells are the ONLY way "immobile" pretenders can move around the strategic map. There are no restrictions to who can cast teleporting spells, as long as they meet the caster requirements.

Most immobile pretenders can be moved by teleport or cloud trapeze which is a good reason to give them the magic paths that support those spells, but they can be empowered later if not.

But there is the pretender called Monument (for C'tis among other nations) which says it can't be moved even by magic. It has 500 hp and a special description saying Totally immobile.

I stand corrected! However, according to the Dominions 4 Inspector, the Monument is the ONLY pretender with the "Totally Immobile" special rule -- perhaps to balance the fact that it has 500+ HP, compared to the next highest HP pretender (Colossal Head, with 300+ HP).

You are right, jojeck. Thank you for the info!

The Monument pretender is specifically totally immobile and can't move around by any magic, even Teleport - if you try to teleport a Monument, you'll get the message "The caster is too immobile to use this spell". Teleport works for ALL other immobile pretenders.

Cloud Trapeze will NOT work for immobile pretenders like statues. Fairy Trod will NOT work either. Astral Travel does NOT work either. Gateway does NOT work either. Stygian Paths does NOT work either.

I don't know about artifacts that provide teleportation or teleportation-like effects (Gate Stone? I don't think any statues/fountains/etc have boot slots for boots of the planes).

If you could cast Transformation on your god you can make them move with that. However, I think this is only for the Irminsul - Lifeless things like statues and fountains can't benefit from Transformation.

To get back to OP's question, besides the Bishop Fish, your Prophet, your Pretender, artifacts that boost holy, and any national heroes or recruitables or national summons with H3... I think the Juggernaut summons at Construction 9 are also H3, and you can Wish for things with H3 and then Gift of Reason them.

Juggernauts are H3, but you'll need to double your investment by casting Divine Name on them since they're not commanders. 50s is pretty steep for a mapmove 1 unit, although it's obviously still better than Wish + GoR.

Thanks guys, this is very helpful :)

Most of those things wind up being corner cases, but winning the game with a throne cap is often a corner case. :) Still, most commonly it's prophets or recruitable H3's.
