Japanese Wiki
So anyone notice there's a Japanese Dom4 wiki?

http://wikiwiki.jp/dominions4/

It's some good ♥♥♥♥. Seriously, way better than any of the English wikis, except for the problem of being Japanese and thus barely readable through google translate. In some ways, it's better than the Mod Inspector, since it gives some information that they apparently gained through testing and not actually provided in game. And the basic tips attached to each nation seem to be mostly quality from what I can see, and there's certainly nothing like that available in English. An excellent source for newbies if they understand Japanese or can parse out google translated crap.

I wonder how big the Japanese Dom4 community is? Certainly they seem better organized than the English community.

This is a pleasantly warm feeling of camaraderie, would have thought a lot of Japanese folk would enjoy this game- likely right up their street with the cultural richness; esp. the Western Mythos

"Magic Resist is hopelessly low. They are struggling for in a sexual partner but possible resistance to intensive attacks of the kind of powerful"

Loool, seems a legit description of EA Ulm

Need to learn Japanese.

I've put it through google translate occasionally. Lot of it is equal to the Dom4 inspector but it does sometimes have amazing insight in some mechanics and spells.

If you check the wiki, there are some links to a few videos where naked anime girls explain the game using a modded copy. Might explain some of it's Japanese popularity. Naked girls tend to make things popular.

The wiki is also very newbie friendly. It even has a translation of the tutorial from the manuel.

According to Steamspy they make up 2,63% of the steam dom4 owners, putting them on position 7 together with Finland. I can't say how accurate that sites data is, though.

Well, it doesn't tell you how many bought it through Desura.

That is true, but since we have no reason to believe that the Japanese buy more copies off Desura compared to steam than other contries do - especially now that desura is dead, we still have rough estimate of the community size.

EDIT: Steamspy also includes people who brought on Desura and activated on steam.

I just saw this when looking up a specific item, it was really cool to see!

Ah, I wondered why wiki suddenly got lot of access. Now I see...
Thanks for introduction, I'm administrator of that. Glad to see that useful for someone.

Our community are rather small. Good place for conversation is 2ch only, and it's not so active. If someone put a question to there, however, it's answered very quickly.
Even so, contents of the wiki are mostly my own work. It took years, but I think it was worth it!

Do you play much multiplayer? Or do some japanese players just play with other dominions groups for mp?

Not much, really. I personally prefer more comfortable SP game. I play for what I want to do, not the hard-earned win.
So I'm more like to researcher who never leave a lab of capital. Not the heroic battle-mage.

While some of Japanese may be playing multiplayer in somewhere, for now, no known JP multiplay community exist, at least to me. And I expect JP community contain lot of SP only player, therefore the wiki also mainly target them.

I do not dare to talk about any real strategy, though. Instead, I'll provide more basic knowledge likely useful for confused newbies. Such knowledge are maybe useful for player who want to find own strategy as well, and for multiplayer, too.

I think MP is the most fun, but if you're enjoying SP, that's good too. The wiki looks very interesting despite my inability to read JP, people noticed it existing a while ago. Well done for making it - if only we had one that complete in english.
