For summonable ones. farie queen (conj 8 n5) can heal diseases.
The chalice (const 8 n5s3) can heal aflictions, some eye agate e3d3 item i forgot name of can heal disease, and n5 cure all elixer can do it too.
2) Ring of Regeneration will keep a diseased mage alive, indefinently.
3) Faery Queen at Nature 5 is the only generic disease healing summon. For others you need items, mainly the Chalice artefact.
4) Gift of Health global enchantment will heal based on how many dominion candles you have in the province.
5) Healing will be random diseased unit in the province. It does prefers commanders I think or at least gives them the first try. But again it's a try and if it fails the healer goes to the next chosen unit.
Do it as quick as you can, the disease ticks will still cause afflictions to build up. Undead do not take any damage from disease. Wight mages also have more hp and the pros/cons of being undead.
Be warned that this can sometimes backfire. In the process of being killed your mage may sometimes gain an affliction. Feeble mind and mute are the worst culprits. Although chest wound sucks to get on a mage too.
Gift of health has a chance to heal aflictions and blood feast heals all aflictions.
I'm not sure how these % chances to heal work. They were ineffective when I tested them in the past but there has been a bug fix IIRC.
