How to heal Afflictions/Disease
Hey guys. I have unluckly just found out that one of my provices where i have already build a fortress a temple and a laboratory, and from where i recruit every month mages, has a negative magic site, that diseases the mages that i recruit in their.

Since i dont want to "loose" the province in terms that i dont produce any mages out of their anymore, i wanted to ask you, which is the best way to heal the disease affliction. Since i play EA C'tis i have some Nature 2 mages, but if i need more Nature or if i need Earth magic, then i also ask you to which mages do i have to summon to perform the cure against diseases.

Also i know that their are some commanders/healers that sometimes join you in an event that can heal afflictions, but do they heal randomly someone in the province their are, including mages, or do they only heal troops under their command? And are their some summonable healers too?

Thank you for your help :)

For healers, a few nations can recruit them, some get them only as a hero, and others only get disease healers.

For summonable ones. farie queen (conj 8 n5) can heal diseases.

The chalice (const 8 n5s3) can heal aflictions, some eye agate e3d3 item i forgot name of can heal disease, and n5 cure all elixer can do it too.

1) Healer heals disease and afflictions. Disease Healer only heals diseases. Their number indicates how many chances they have to heal someone, they're not guarantees.
2) Ring of Regeneration will keep a diseased mage alive, indefinently.
3) Faery Queen at Nature 5 is the only generic disease healing summon. For others you need items, mainly the Chalice artefact.
4) Gift of Health global enchantment will heal based on how many dominion candles you have in the province.
5) Healing will be random diseased unit in the province. It does prefers commanders I think or at least gives them the first try. But again it's a try and if it fails the healer goes to the next chosen unit.

The easiest way to heal a few valuable mages with disease in the early game is to use the Miraculous Cure All Elixer which is a Const 4 item costing 30 N gems and needing N5. It can heal 1 disease per month on a commander or unit in the same province.

But is their a way to cure disease when neither your pretender, or any of your mages, have 5N?

If you can't work with any of the nature gem powered options above. You may want to consider casting twiceborn on the diseased mage. Then you need to get the mage killed under your dominion.

Do it as quick as you can, the disease ticks will still cause afflictions to build up. Undead do not take any damage from disease. Wight mages also have more hp and the pros/cons of being undead.

Be warned that this can sometimes backfire. In the process of being killed your mage may sometimes gain an affliction. Feeble mind and mute are the worst culprits. Although chest wound sucks to get on a mage too.

do wight mages keep their magic stats or will they always turn into the normal 2D Wight mages?

Twiceborn mages become a Wight with all the magic paths including holy ones, assuming mute and feeblemind don't affect them. There is a chance that they gain +1 D, if I recall correctly.

mute and feeble mind do effect them.

The other 2 possiblilities are gift of health and blood feast.
Gift of health has a chance to heal aflictions and blood feast heals all aflictions.

Disease grinder is a f1d3 const 8 item that can remove diseases (and produce gems as a side effect).

IIRC that's a rare site that only sometimes is available on a map, not every game has access to it.

There are also a few rare sites that have a % chance to heal. Nine sites are listed in the Mod Inspector as having the key property "Heal". Garden of Longevity is a holy site that has a 7% heal chance.

I'm not sure how these % chances to heal work. They were ineffective when I tested them in the past but there has been a bug fix IIRC.
