How do Call Horror

Seriously, how do you use this spell effectively? I've tried spamming horror mark in advance, but the horror still noms my mage and troops. The mage dieing wouldn't be a problem if the horror was nastier, but so far they ended up getting surrounded and swarmed before doing any meaningful damage. I don't want to commit a serious force to the attack since even if the horror does deal meaningful damage I would have to kill it myself.

What is the strategy? or is the spell better used defensively in a province you expect to lose.

Call Horror is usually a very situational spell. It's a last ditch defensive effort, rather than a strategy. A Hellpower communion/sabbath coupled with pheonix pyre is your best usage of horrors, creating a horrifying eldritch minefield of horrible things.

horrors will just eat your guys no matter what. Give them enough bodyguards that the horrors appear outside the formation, and start eating troops, while your mages spam more horrors. Your guys will die, but there will be a plethora of horrors on the field who might also eat the enemy army.

If I have additional mages casting horror mark, would that help "encourage" the horrors to head to the other side of the battlefield before nomming on troops. or is the 'horrors target horrormark targets' mostly just flavor?

It does target them, but given that they pop in right next to the summoner, it rarely ends well for them. In my experience, the horrors get summoned, and are promptly killed by the troops I have on hand to guard my mage. Horror marks do leave them vulnerable to random horror assassinations though.
