What's your favorite army?
What's your favorite army? More accurately, what's a cool set of 5 units that work well together? I'm using Ancient Ents + Dryads + Werewolf Elves + Elves + Hunters. Since they're all Elf-affiliated, they get a morale bonus.

Right now I just began as a mage, and I'm throwing in Swordsman for...thereness. Priests to cast Bless on the Fire Dragonflies to be omega hard hitters. Royal Snakes for all around awesomeness and 3 Royal Thorns as a spawner of more thorns...It could be better.

How can you not love how the peasents wield that pitch fork?!?!?!

I'm fond of the Thorns. Their sowing ability and the royan thorns unit spewing ability can be amazing.

I take what I can get my hands on.

Currently I'm level 5 (I think), and using Swordmen, Priests, Bowmen, a handful of Archmages and Berserkers. I might actually garrison the Bersekers for some fights, but they are generally useful since they just charge ahead and start killing things with a lot of damage, which tends to draw a lot of enemy attention. I just have to make sure to start resurrecting in time :-)

I'm still waiting to get a dragon that spews 10000 damage firebreath in forward direction over the entire field, but no luck as of now.

I do seem to have some animals that I could buy, but they all seem pretty useless. Although I'm not sure about wolves; I guess I should try whether their spell works on enemy units too :-)

Snakes! :p

Royal Snakes + normal snakes + green snakes. But I HAVE to have a group of bowmen too, as well as a group of warrios.

The two reserves are actually Royal Snakes (to replce the ones that I lose from the main army) and Priests (to replace the bowmen when I'm fighting zombies and ghosts).

Horsemen, Priests, Inquisitors, Royal Thorns, Archmages. Seems to work very very well. I'm only level 9 atm, so that's the best I can find so far. Before that it was Guardsmen, Archers, Archmages, Priests and 'Zerkers.

Honestly, as long as I have a horde of peasants I'm happy. :D

I'm a paladin and began using Snakes, Bears and Spiders (pretty much everything from the farm in Greenwort) plus anything else I could find. I'm now lvl 20 and using Emerald Green Dragons, Elvish bowmen, Horsemen, Royal Snakes and Shamans. I don't have any morale boost but I love the shamans, they're so handy especially later on when you can have a boatload in your party to generate the totems for meatshields (plus they hardly ever die as they just sit at the back usually).

The dragons are also awesome because they don't die often, and can fly a great distance. Gotta have my bowmen to do the ranged damage (gotta use Giot's armor a lot to defend them though). The horsemen and snakes are usually my tanks, sometimes I swap the bowmen for archmages or polar bears depending on the enemies.

I like the idea of fielding themed armies (so the OP's all Elven army intrigues me), but I'm only starting out, so there's not much variety yet.

my favorite army is: Sea Dogs, Thorn-hunters, Dryads, Royal Snakes, and Griffins. with mirabella to boost the sea dogs attack power, the crown of briarthorn to boost the thorns damage, and the griffin banner for the griffins leadership, this army is fun to use. even without the items its still a good army

Yeah for a big chunk of the game I just tanked royal snakes and another snake unit and married the frog princess and kept her a frog for the snake attack bonus. Usually had archers, alchemists, and mages or priests with them. Basically a lot of ranged attackers with my snakes tanking. It worked really well.

Black dragons + Green Dragons + Elves + Black Unicorns + Inquisitors. Good for the world of undeads.
