Most OP Combinations
So, post the combinations that you've found most useful in this thread, whether it's for XP or damage, or whatever.

For instance, I'd love to know if the Architect's Permit (1 Energy/Single), Camp Counselor's Sing Along (2 Energy/Party), or Super Fan's Courage Corps (1 Energy/Party) stack, especially on things like the School Mascot's Rouse the Troops (2 Energy/Party) or Teacher's Life Lessons (2 Energy/Single). If you keep using the Photographer or Scientist to clone enemies, will their XP be added to the overall pool?

Anyway, for me, my ultimate damage so far appears to have come from having the Super Fan and Camp Counselor use Justice Force/Courage Corps and Sing Along before the Handyman's two-turn Buzzsaw connects. (Incidentally, if that doesn't kill the enemy, you'll have to use an item or skill to restore Handyman's energy, as he'll keep trying to cast Buzzsaw again; not sure if that's a glitch or not.) I'm sure there are more optimal moves.

Oh, and if you equip the Superfan with the Wonder Cape, she can do multiple actions in a single turn. And it goes without saying that the Handyman is equipped with either Lady Leadpipe or Senor Sledgehammer, both of which double his attack. (If it's the latter, you'll need a way of getting the Handyman up to 3 energy.)

Now that more people have played the game, any other combinations people want to share? I still haven't found anything better than what I'm currently running.

architect + item tape measure and using skill rebuilt... revives fallen enemy and buffs your attck, special attack and gives hp regen buff.... well it works on living ones too, so use it first round and use special attcks with other chars, and seens like the special attack buffs stacks 2 times -.-

Wait, it works on living enemies, too? If true, that's a great buff to use against bosses, and the Architect's Permit skill is already super useful, so I'd go back to running Handyman + Architect + Camp Counselor. (The ability to heal and remove a status debuff is terrific.)

it heals an enemy to full life, thats why its best to use it first or midfight on adds and go for boss

Bartender Trade Off Abilities + Mascot's Prankster. Bartender gives you the option of getting really good buffs in exchange the character gets a ton of debuffs at a later date, while some charcters like Salesman can remove them the real magic comes with the Mascot's Prankster skill, which lets hime TRADE buffs and debuffs with his opponent. 3 Full Stack Attack downs for your opponent sounds good to me.

Actually, the most overpowered combination is the Architect's Plan on Brother, followed by Mother's double defense down, followed by Brother's weak pummeling ability in bowling shoes. With a bit of luck, that's 28 hits. :P

Oh, I like that one! I haven't yet found the Bowling Shoes. That said, wouldn't the Camp Counselor or Super Fan's boost ability (which hits *all* party members) be more useful, assuming they're faster than Brother and Mom? Or does Mom's double defense down not double?
Die-Hardrickman Jan 23, 2015 @ 11:30am
Yeah, Darkroom ability is fantastic, although the XP boosts from the Mascot and Teacher are far easier to succesfully pull off. I'm wondering . . . if the Mascot's ability is a one-battle-at-a-time use, could you use it early and then just keep using the Scientist and Photographer to add more easy to kill enemies?

Well, when you're initially leveling up the photographer, her SP is going to suck. Re-leveling up pretty much any character after you've used the Yoga Instructor, especially if you're auto-winning fights, is a fairly swift affair.

Any other suggestions? I'll sticky them in the main post.

I prefer Brother + any 2 Citizens. He clears most normal enemies and bosses on 1xDifficulty alone. He has 1 single target physical attack and 1 all-enemies half-damage physical attack that are both without element and chargers at the same time, so they always charge his energy. And he has 2 spenders that he can use on enemies neutral or weak to Muscle element. He also has good defense and item that gives him 3 stacks of defense boost on crit. Most other Citizens have elements on main chargers so they end up without energy on some enemies, or they don't have multi-target attack that can be used without energy. Also he is not weak to anything.

After I used Brother through the whole game, he ended up at level 60 while most others were 10-20 and few at 30. Because he already had such high level it was easier to go for achievement that requires all Citizens at level 30. Just add any two characters into his group, start battle at VS arena with 5xGroovy Gals and kill them all in 1 turn for 1000 exp.

And I did not use Yoga Teacher (after I tried what she does on one random character) because it would imbalance the game too much. And that would be hard to fix even with School Mascot (some battles would be easy, others would become like hell at the same difficulty). Killing 1 enemy in the back for 100 exp to get several level and removing those levels for boost then gaining those levels back with next attack would be too OP and does not require anything, so it's like unlimited stats (I don't know if there is really a limit on them or if you gain less stats with each boost).

I know I'm bumping an old topic, but Humble Bundle means more people are playing this game now.

I'm a little surprised no one has mentioned the Programmer + Gambler combination.
You need to Yoga the Programmer's Agility to be a fair amount higher than the Gambler's to use this combination reliably.

Reroute then 42 Pickup.

I believe this is one of the strongest single target combinations in the game, and this isn't counting your third character.
Architect: Can buff the attack of the Gambler with Rebuild and/or Permit, bypassing reroute with Tape Measure.
Musician/Mascot: Both give aoe damage, are able to heal your allies and their energy steal skills can be rerouted (stealing all the energy from your selected opponent if it's still alive).

Pretty much any character whom can heal, buff, aoe or restore the Programmer's energy will work well with this combination. Just try not to kill the enemy between Reroute and 42 Pickup, or use buffs/ heal while Reroute is up otherwise they'll hit the enemy instead.
Btw, aoes will still do more damage with more enemies, just all the hits will be focused on one opponent with Reroute up.

The combo that carried me through the game was Brother, Teacher, and 1 random person who i was just leveling. Brother and Teacher's normal attacks could take car of most enemies, and in case of groups they each have a decent "all enemies" attack. As for bosses, I would use Teacher's "Multiply" and then Brother's "Charlie Horse." Assuming the boss isn't strong against muscle type, I could deal about 300 damage in 1 attack. I also usually had the sushi chef when facing bosses, and he has a chance to lower defense with his strongest knife attack.

This is what I did throughout the main game. Now I'm in the grindy end parts, and I'm not using that tactic as much.
