Best version?
I know this game is pretty much on every platform, but what I'd like to know before I buy is which version is the best?

It's always hard to tell...

I'm leaning toward PC myself, just because "PC Master Race". But the "Partial Controller Support" has me worried a bit, not sure how well the usual Xbox 360 controller for Windows has been integrated into the game. I'm waiting for a bit to buy it just because of that slight worry.

I've got so many platforms for this game, so many options.

I thought it was flawless, personally. I had no problems using my Xbox 360 controller during my playthrough, so I'm not entirely sure where the idea of partial controller support comes in. Aside from that, I've played both PC and PS4 and the PS4 version didn't fit my TV so I would say the PC version is better in that regard. They're largely the same though, from what I understand.

Hmm, I was just going by the tag on the Store page.

Does the game have a launcher on the PC that you must click Play on? That sometimes causes them to put the "Partial" support tag, like all of the Final Fantasy games.

Yes it does, the launcher lets you pick between resolutions, whether you want shaders and multithreaded mode as well as give you the option to turn on windowed. The game itself plays fine with a controller.

Ok then. That explains it.

The touch screen interface, that makes me want to try it on the Wii U and play it on the gamepad. (I also have Earthbound on the Wii U). Vita as well, but slightly less so because of the size...

So right now it's between PC and Wii U. I'll need to decide soon.

Yeah, I'm trying to decide on WiiU or PC also.

Leaning toward Wii U, mostly because I have a free 5 dollar Nintendo eShop credit from the Digital Wii U promotion deal that ended last year. So 6.99 out of pocket... Can't get much better than that.

Unless you really care about touch interface, Steam is the best for altering resolutions and recording.

I said this in another thread but I was considering the 3DS version for the touch controls too so it's between a non 3D game on 3DS with touch controls and portability, or the ease of a couple clicks in Steam and play it on PC with a bit more clunkiness to the control, that theoretically could be fixed later by doing what one guy said and adding ally ability hotkeys.

I'll probably end up getting on PC... so temping... so little work to get it... yea I've mostly broken down.

the 3ds version is one of the least optimized games i've played. It crashes way more than any 3ds game should, sneak attacks can just be trivialized by regrouping, and theres plenty of other bugs.

The Wii U demo seemed slow when I played it, longish loads.

These could persist on PC though, depending on your specs.

Bought it first on 3DS and would not recommend. Slow loads, low res everything, just, bad all around.
