Tricks for quick leveling?
After a lengthy break, I decided to get back to this game and finish the last couple of achievements I was missing. One of them was '150 items used', which I quickly polished off. The other, however, is 'All character to level 30'. At the moment, most of my cast are hovering around level 20, where I left 'em after getting their Talents to level 3.

I managed to level up a few while collecting a couple of missing pieces of gear (all that's left is the Vise Grips, which are annoyingly missable), but now that I'm done with that, I find myself wondering how to level up the rest of my crew most efficiently. I've already got a bunch of guys spending time with the Teacher, but it seems likely there are other tricks...

I've tried using the Mascot's Difficulty-Slider, but it seems useless - taking it up to the point where you get 2X EXP makes it take MORE than twice as long to kill enemies, making it a moot point. I've heard of using the Teacher's 'Life Lessons' a lot, or the Photographer's ability to clone an enemy with barely any XP left and then taking it out with her extra-weak bonus-exp-attack... but both of those requires you to bring those particular characters into combat with you. Do those tricks really give enough of a boost to make up for the fact that you'll be bringing someone who doesn't actually need leveling along with you?

School Mascot's Rouse the Troops is the best way to level your party out. My suggestion? Use the V-arena to spawn a lot of enemies, that are weak to Verbal damage (best option would be the fishermen from the Canyon) So, if you spawn 5 of them, survive one turn of their attacks... You should get A LOT of expirience. This process doesn't waste energy, either.

So, here's how it works:

Turn 1:

Mascot uses Rouse the Troops, everyone else do whatever
You survive one round of attacks

Turn 2:

Mascot attacks all enemies with his basic Verbal attack, restoring energy to himself
The others finish the enemies off

Another good trick for fast levelling is to use arena if you want, or go on areas where you have enemies easy to kill (not too easy or they give you almost no XP) and have, in team, an enemy cloning member (scientist or photographer or even architect, but only in a multienemies combat).
You start using power up skills, then you go on with this trick.
Cloner create a new enemy (or rebuild a fallen one) then other kill the original. You can go on as long as you are able to do this. You just need to make cloner the fastest team member so act before other kill the last enemy.
With the photographer I have got over 4000 xp without suffering a single attack and doing this around 15 times.
With fewer enemies this will work perfectly and longer you go, higher is the XP reward at the end of combat.
With 5 enemies you get 3 times the lowest enemy xp value, so think what happen with 15 or more... :P

Oh, and remember that you dont need to go stright to 2x with mascot. You can go between all of degrees and choose where you can get the best balance level. I go perfectly, for levelling, to 1.4, but I change it to 1,2 whenI get an under lvl 10 chharacter in team.

I recently had to level 20 characters to 20 for the Yoga Instructor, so what I did was load up the VR arena and spawn the max number of viruses - on round 1 I did Rouse the Troops then spammed Mascot's Cheer to kill them all - it was about 83 exp per kill and ~1.2k after the fight. Sometimes more if they summoned allies. Took about an hour to get everyone to 20 then I just rolled them back for more stat points and repeated. I'm not sure if its the best tactic but its certainly effective.

A good trick, but why dont use "cloning" effects like photographer or scientist do? It's a great bonus for any team. ;)
The method I used to get everyone to Lv.20 (for the Yoga Instructor) was to go to Camp Koo-Koo with a party consisting of one high-leveled character and two under-leveled ones - just enough that a charge from behind will instant-win against one of the campers. The four maps comprising the camp generate a ton of campers, and the threshold for receiving normal experience(about 100 EXP per kid) is somewhere slightly above Lv.20, though I don't know the exact level.

This strategy becomes extremely easy after defeating Colonel Cookie and Cookie Colossus as after that the campers will run away from the roving band of adults wielding the tools of their trades as deadly weapons led by a top elected official, rather than charge directly at you, meaning they turn their backs allowing for an almost guranteed ambush.

Took maybe 15-20 minutes to level one character from Lv.7 or so to Lv.20. The only downside is that this does not generate Citizen EXP, which improves your citizens' jobs.

Useful, but only if you have a verbal attacker as "levelled up" character, because if you get a multi-enemy combat it's a really danngerous combat.
And, for getting the 'All character to level 30' archievement it's hard to get this way.
but can be useful for empower characters using Yoga teacher special power. :D
But you need an over 30 level character as "stronger" if you want use this tecnique.

Whoo for being late to the topic!

The easiest way to level to 30 is to use the Mascot's ability to reduce the EXP gained to the point where you can kill the final VR enemy in one to two hits with Mascot then use Mascot's Rally The Troops then attack a full group of them in VR.

The difficulty slider will make you get less exp per fight, but the difficulty drop is going to be significantly higher than the exp drop, this is the reason killing the final enemy at a low difficulty will give the most exp (even more for killing a maxed group of them).

You'll only be able to level 2 characters at a time with my method, however they'll hit level 30 after 5 to 7 or so fights, and it will get faster as you level Mascot up and raise the difficulty slightly over time.
