Dragon Nest Europe

Region Blocked?
I've been thinking about playing this game today but also wanted to play with a friend who lives in the Us, I myself being from England. I know Steam only has Dragon Nest for people who are from Europe but can I possible download the US client from the US site or is the game region blocked?

I believe the US version is indeed region locked, but the EU version only blocks a few countries, and the US is not one of them. (I looked it up because I wanted to play with US friends as well).

However, someone in the US will not be able to download the game through Steam. Instead they should go to the website and download the client there. So if your friend isn't already playing on the US servers it would be an option to play on the EU servers together (he wouldn't be able to use any US account and would have to start over to play with you otherwise).

So, just to clarify; I can download the EU version off of steam and connect to US servers, thus enabling me to play with my friend who lives in the US?

no, the EU and US servers are not connected to each other, but your friend in the US can go to http://www.dragonnest.eu/ and download their client, which would enable him to use the EU servers. On a new account, and not through steam (but he could add it as a non-steam game)

This is possible because the EU region block is very specific, it only blocks Korea, China, Japan, Singapore, Philippines and Malaysia.

So it would be like this:
- you download the game through Steam and make an account that is linked to your Steam
- your friend downloads the game from the site and makes a non-linked account
- log in
- play together on European servers

That's what I said right? I just took more words for it, and told him that his friend cannot download it from Steam (because in the US steam only offers the US Dragon Nest, while in Europe it offers the Europe Dragon Nest)
