HOW TO FIX DRAGON NEST LAUNCHER ERROR 404

Hello there guys!

I've seen recently many posts about Dragon Nest not working after downloading it from Steam and although the solution has been posted several times too, people keep coming to this forum and asking for help with the same issue, maybe because there is not a post with the fix to this problem as the topic. That's why I thought it would be a great idea to make a topic about it.

First of all, a few notes

WOW, why do I have to provide so much information in order to create a Cherry Account or bind my existing Dragon Nest/Steam Dragon Nest account?!?!?

I will assume you already have a Dragon Nest account binded to a Cherry Account. Follow these steps to make your game work.

1. After installing the game through Steam, head to the directory where it is installed (usually this C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Dragon Nest Europe) and enter the directory named Dragon Nest
   
2. From this folder (C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Dragon Nest Europe\Dragon Nest, just in case) copy all its contents to the folder C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Dragon Nest Europe, and overwrite if prompted.
   
3. Now, in the Dragon Nest Europe folder you will see two launchers: SteamDNLauncher and DNLauncher. The trick to do here is to make Steam think he's launching the SteamDNLauncher when in reality he's launching the normal launcher. Rename the SteamDNLauncher.exe to whatever you like (CrapLauncher.exe will work xD), and rename the DNLauncher.exe to SteamDNLauncher.exe. This will do the trick.
   
4. Now if you head to your library in Steam and run the game you will notice it launches the normal launcher, which works perfectly. After patching the game, you will be prompted your user and password of your Dragon Nest Account

And that's all! (Hopefully!)

but people dont bother to watch them and just instead make a new post, which is why i dont even bother typing it and redirecting them to a older post

as for the notes u mentioned:

as for cherry, the rights of the game are still shanda (SEA and EU are both shanda) which allot of ppl either dont know or are to stupid to know, Cherry is the SEA main distributor for game credits (CC = Cherry Credits) the reason cherry doesnt do much for their steam users is cause they dont know a thing about steam (according to most questions i have asked)
that is why at first the steam client didnt work at all and CC was not available through steam

at a earlier update they said they fixed the steam client, which was true, most users could play using the normal steam client..

the problem occured after the machina update mostly, which is still odd cause i was still able to play, like before, without any problems, where a hand full of users couldnt

I started play DN EU on Steam a few months ago and everytime i run the game it log in automatically, i didn't need to put a username and a password.

Now that it all happened, is there any way to know my username and my password?

request your ID on the lost password page using your steam's emailadress
if it does not connect, make a CC account and send in a ticket, ask for your emailadress and provide your steamname + steamID in the ticket

I had this problem since 2 weeks, and I tried to do just like you wrote above. I thought that would solve the problem completely, since it'd have been like having all the needed files already. But I've got another problem after it, and I instead don't know how to fix this. I searched the discussions already, but I found nothing on it, so I'm asking it here. Maybe you guys already have the answer.

As I run Dragon Nest Europe from Steam, the Patcher opens normally, and "Start" is here. As I click on it, though, it tells me "GPKit Start error", and stops the process.
Looking in the Folder, I noticed the "gpk" Folder (I guess it's the anti-hack), so I guess the problem is inherit it.
I Searched on the web for an answer as well, but all I've found are.. hmm.. quite.. untrustable methods, so I didn't try them out.

Is there anyone who knows how to fix this?

i have never encountered a GPKit error, so i cannot provide with any solution, i do however give a tip: give full access to DN in your anti-virus, lately some anti-virus programs have seen some DN files as viruses and delete the files without warning, check your quarantine, maybe that your anti-virus deleted something aswell, i suggest to download the original DNlauncher again, instead of steam, and patch it without anti-virus turned on, i cant suggest anything else since ive never encountered it before

this is a alternative fix for when the client doesnt work, it deletes the steam client's auto login and makes it just like the regular client, u loose auto-login and DNP topup with this

This doesn't work for me. When I rename the files, it tells me that it can't run because it's missing files.
