Anyone else considering making a steam guide for this one?
I was considering making a skills guide so people could reference and plan builds but I wont have anything graphics wise. If any of you youngins want to do up something spectacular just mention it here so others will know it's covered.

I'll probably give the text a cleaning so it looks more math like and shorter. After looking at some skills information I noticed a few things that perhaps Kaz would like to look at, like how vigor boost skill gives the buff boost vigor. Might it streamline some descriptions to use (Stat) to show a value? IE: "Boost Vigor - Grants ally (MIND) turns of boost vigor and (MAGIC) guard."

Not really sure what about the boost vigor, but sure! Send me the Skill descriptions that need changes that I will gladly review it! =]

Also, whatever sprites you may need I will happily provide.

Cheers!
This is going to take a lot longer then I had thought it would. I thought mastering skills was just some linear improvement. As I was collecting data to put up a skills list I finally clicked on a skill in the skills screen in party menu and found out they have two branches of upgrades as you master them. The upgrade choices can really change how skills operate, it's awesome! This will require a lot more time to delve into. It's nice to find something new every day.

Glad you liked it. (wait until you get the Master Skills as Char's Objectives, hohoho). =]

I probably have to point out to other players, inside the game, all available mechanics in the game, but I think the tutorial are already too annoying for the players.

Would you mind adding a tier of skills too please? Some skills are 'less useful' than others and sometimes in surprising ways!

For example: Multiattack has two branches.
Greater Multiattack -> Superior Multiattack
Breaking Multiattack -> Debilitating Multiattack

Both are good situationally, but Breaking Multiattack grants Guard Break which cannot be dodged (evasion).

Also: Some skills become amazing only at the final tier - notably the white spell Bless. Aura Bless is better than Reliable Bless, and Area Bless is (in theory) much better than Blessed Knight.
I know what you mean, was looking at that today. One gives 4 attacks at half damage the other 2 attacks at full with the added guard brake. Breaking wins unless the half damage only applies to base and not to any bonus buffs to damage.

Well, if you pair the 4 attacks with Exploit Opening and Unarmored Buster it's quite effective too. ^_~

Then again, what does not. ;)

Looking forward to it!

You seem to have something detailed in mind, so allow me just a short comment about how fleeting data is when it is not saved on your own disk. In other words, it might make sense to have the master document in your own environment and only copy the content to Steam or wherever. But you know that anyway, without a doubt. I have seen too many projects die because some software / server / storage medium croaked that was not under control of the author.

Just a suggestion for creating the guide. Considering that the game is still under development and we still find out about its workings, it might make sense to create an alpha version of the guide and a thread here where anyone can give input when they see something that does not match their own experience. Remember that perfect is the enemy of good.

Anywho, I am stoked to see the first draft. All the best for your project!

Just a heads-up, you can read all weapon and skill stats straight from the game files! Look for ITEM_MAP.JSON, ITEM_TAGS_MAP.JSON, SKILL_MAP.JSON, and STATUS_MAP.JSON.

There’s no documentation, but they’re all JSON and pretty human-readable. Just... maybe don’t edit them... LOL
CHEETIN! I'm old so I've been doing it all in game so I can try the skills. That way I can test how they work in a practical sense. Scribble notes galore as I go. I am SO glad you have the feature of letting a member go and he wanders around in case you want them back. Will let me turn one slot into a float for raising up a new skill set to test without breaking my play set.

The last patch made Firearms deal Impact damage. Mace training requires an impact weapon and causes Daze on Health Damage. The skill "The "Deep Impact" skill ignores armour.

Using 2 Adamant Flintlocks = 2 attacks 4 - 8 damage ignore armour cause Daze.

Superior Multiattack = +4 attacks 2 - 4 damage ignore armour cause Daze (8 - 16 damage)
Debilitating Multiattack = +2 attacks ignore evasion (very important) 4 - 8 damage ignore armour cause Daze +2 damage vs guard (8 - 16 damage, cannot be dodged, 12 - 20 damage vs Guard)

Superior Multiattack is probably better for Melee combined with other skills.
Debilitating Multiattack is probably better for Ranged Firearms

Golems become walking bags of XP and Salvaged Iron now

Wopz! Are the Mace Training Skills working with Firearms? I don't think that hey should. I will probably patch it if that's the case.

Impact damage naturally halves the target's armor though. That's the main difference between them and bows, but they also do a little less damage.

I'm loving the combos you guys are making! =D

Cheers!

EDIT: just tested on my end, and nor Mace Training nor Deep Impact are active if I use a Firearm. These Skills need a melee impact weapon. Phew! No need to patch it then.

Thanks! It is a bit hard to tell the difference between 50% armour and 100% armour penetration when the opponents armour is very low. Do bows pair with Exploit Opening? I havent had a chance to test that yet.

Depends on the Exploit Opening. There is a Ranged Exploit Opening on the ranged tree and I think there is another on the piercing melee tree.

It will be better explained when I added the weapon requirements on the combat and party screen query. But the equipment needed is already on the Town Shop. =]

Cheers!

I can see what you mean. One of my characters just finished the "Shield Mastery" quest and was given the "Shield Charge" skill. This skill is....not good.

Shield Charge (Shield Mastery Skill) Swift, Cooldown 3, Equipment Needed: Shield
Area Attack
Hit 3 adjacent characters Provoke and Push them for 3 squares

So this ability IS a mass provoke, but it pushes people away and you will have to walk up and hit them. This is a swift action so if you run up to someone, Shield Charge, they get pushed away and you've probably run out of movement to catch them now.

Not a great ability

Hmmm, understood. But these Skills can be rebalanced. Any suggestions on how can this be improved? =]
