Toe Jam and Earl
Hey guys this game is basically Toe Jam and Earl. That is far from a bad thing, but I feel like it sells it self as more of an RPG? The only thing it's missing is Co-Op and it would be the Toe Jam and Earl successor I have been waiting for forever. It's fun as is totally worth the pretty low price. Anyone else notice this?

Yeah I came here to post 'toejam and earl with combat' as a topic but you beat me to it.

The Drop down to go to previous level
Collecting Artifacts To Proceed
The Random Scrolls (presents)
Tagging In And Out in solo player

I loved toejam and earl as a kid so this is a pleasent surprise to me.

Huh. They must really be influenced by older games. I like that they do that though. It brings back some old mechanics that games don't really use now-a-days. I might actually pick this game up.

Thanks guys one of the DEVs here, of course TJ&E, with more engaging combat and RPG elements was our main inspiration. Pendleton Ward, the creator of Adventure Time is a big fan of TJ&E and that played a big role for CN letting us move forward with this concept. Hope you guys enjoy the game!

That's awesome!

It's great to see people drawing from the not as well known great old games. The best adventure time games seem to do that. This one draws from Toe Jam and Earl and the 3DS one drew from Zelda 2. Super cool and I hope it continues to be a big inspiration for more Adventure Time games to come.

One of my favorite old games of all time. Sold!

Hearing the TJ&E comparison has made me really interested in playing this game now. Thanks, OP, for doing a better job at selling me on this game than the trailer.

D: It even has the randomize 'present' now I don't know what anything does :D I should've had them identified!

Was about to start a Toe Jam and Earl thread myself.
Can't go wrong wit ha Tow Jam and Earl style game, world needs more of those. :P
Heck its kind of fitting for Adventure time.
Though I wonder if there is any dynamic splitscreen local co-op and extra insane difficulty modes.
Random stages too?
Maybe in an update :3
Either way, its good to see some good Adventure Time games out there so good work. :D

No kidding, I hardly played any Toejam and Earl but that was the first thing that popped into my mind just from looking at the title and the screenshots. If they had sold this as a homage to that game I would have appreciated it, as it is it seems a bit like a rip off to me, although I haven't played this game yet so I can't really judge on if the gameplay adds anything over the "original".

I like you chilko. I was going to say I feel like the game distinguishes itself enough. I would really love to see updates or add ons though if this does well on Steam. I think Randomization and co-op would be the coolest features to add on.

Agreed with random generation of maps. Co op would be cool..but personally honest..I don't play with others..unless its auto matched set up..and not local :/

If the game does well those would be our first two features. They were always in our original plans. (don't tell anyone, but the game was designed with randomization in mind. Actually we built the worlds with a procedural generator, then, a level designer would tweak it and add items, enemies and gameplay on top)

You are in for it now. I've quoted you in my game review! :trazz:
Keep up the great support and looking forward to seeing what may get added in future.

This thread is what convinced me to buy it. You had me at TJ&E. Totally worth it.
