It's a walking sim says in the tag. You could ideally watch some gameplay on youtube. Not as much of a walking sim as dear esther though.

It is a walking sim
But its also one of the best
It's a lot better than Dear Esther. This actually has interaction and puzzles to solve. To put it best, it is not pretentous like Dear Esther.

It is a totally worth it walking simulator. The puzzles are nice, music is very charming and graphics are breathtaking.

This game is great, it has story, gameplay, discovery, action - in one word: excitement. Therefore, it has nothing in common with Dear Esther, which was a pain in the behind to play (if you can call that one a "game" at all).

This is not a walking simulator, it is much more like an adventure, but with unique gameplay.

Call it a walking sim with detective puzzles. It's a really good game with great graphics and sound. It's laid back and it will make you think.

Laid back? Have you played through the spooky maze? ;) "Laid back" is certainly not a term I would use to describe Ethan Carter, as isn't "walking simulator".

True, walking sim isn't the best description, I use that term because you aren't constantly worried about getting jumped. I never found the mine maze all that bad personally but it was the only area where you really needed to be on your toes. Maybe atmospheric is a better term overall.
