Well, Sekiro - 1 weapon. DS3 - 100 hours played with 2 weapons.
what is 8 weapons? if you mean weapon types then its fine its all about how unique each of them are but if you mean actually 8 different weapons in entire game then i mean wtf?

in total, 8 weapons, and 8 side arms, like , axekatana, fist, 2 handed sword, great hammer, there is no 2 types of greataxes or great hammers, 8 unique weapons and not archetypes within

passive buffs to your character, like tar stones which is basicly trinkets that can give you %to critical damage, or poisen damage reduction, or stuff like that, akin to rings from dark souls, but 8 shells, 8 weapons, not like getting the tar golems dual axes or any boss weapons
8 shells, 8 weapons, 8 sidearms makes sense. It will probably suffer the same issues as sekiro with the desire to explore waning by the end when you get your 100th consumable from the most ornate chest imaginable. Or maybe the Tarstones and seals can make up for that. But for 30 - 40 hour game it makes sense.

its probably gonna be the combination of shell upgrade paths and the seals that will make ur build
It's like Bloodborne quality over quantity.

A lot more than the first game had. Quantity ain't quality.

the game was more a testing for this id say, it was great fun for what it was back then, but going back now is rough :)
it's fine. Not every game needs to be dark souls or elden ring where there are over 100 weapons but only 20 worth using. Bloodborne didn't have a massive selection of weapons but they were distinct and fun to use. They will most likely be really fun to use in this game and be varied from other weapons and that's what is important. Sekiro had 1 weapon and it's great. First berserker had only 3 but they were extremely fleshed out. It's about quality not quanity.
