how to use quick use items

Hi guys, just started loving the game.

I'm a little confused, i use xbox controller on PC and when i want to use weltcap or the alcohol so far i set one to active use so for weltcap it should heal me over 30 seconds and i press down arrow but it just clicks but nothing happens. I even tried setting it to passive as well but again nothing.

What am i missing? i'm at the tutorial area outside the village

It's a bug. Quit to main menu and reload, it should work.

Make sure the mushroom is set to the active slot instead of passive

it definately is set to active, just doesnt work. i'll try to log out and back in hopefully that will work. That is a serious bug considering it affects quick use items
