Updating my review after finishing all the achievements. The game is still a ton of fun over and over. I've been recommending it to all my friends. It's a great side-scroller and the different forms are awesome. Any stat increase you get from items or skills feels significant, which makes even the itemization feel engaging. The devs add QoL every patch, and the game already feels way better than it did just a week ago. And the freezing issue is gone too.
I'm still not sure why stagger is a hidden value, since all of the other relevant stats of every form are viewable on the character screen. Not knowing the stagger value of different forms makes staggering enemies still feel very unpredictable. All in all, a very fun game though.

Original review: Fun game with good replayability. The stages and levels all feel unique, and the different forms are all a ton of fun.
A couple annoying things though. First, there doesn't seem to be any way to know if your attack will interrupt a normal enemy. Sometimes it will, sometimes it won't - it feels random. For bosses, it seems more predictable though. And second, the game freezes for a split second before rubber-banding forward every 30 seconds or so, which is a bit frustrating since avoiding dmg is such a huge part of this game. I spent about 2 hours trying to fix it by changing every possible setting, but no luck. And none of my other games do this. So hopefully that gets patched up soon
