Not sure I know what you mean.
If you mean where is the 1.05 patch, you can find it here:
http://www.gamershell.com/download_17452.shtml
Download it then when you install it show it to your Knights of Honor folder
(Program Files(x86)/Steam/steamapps/common/Knights of Honor/ .. or something like that)
Let me know if you need anymore help, though I personally don't own KoH on Steam myself,
so I can't test the patching process on the Steam version.
Nevermind, got it working.
(Bought the Steam version and couldn't get it patched to 1.05, but the file I linked above does indeed work afterall)
The same is applying for Cossacks II, its lower version and consumers are raging but none giving a ♥♥♥♥ about it.
Can anyone tell me if official patches can be applied to Steam version of Knights of Honor without tweaking files?
Can I just install an official patch then navigate it to (Program Files(x86)/Steam/steamapps/common/Knights of Honor) or do i need to install some hacked patch to make it install?
The one I had linked above works because you can choose where you wish to install it to.
As far as I'm aware it's not hacked, but could be wrong hehe.
The 1.05 patch file seems to also be available at www.patches-scrolls.de as well. The update seems to be working fine, but I have not played through with it, just booted it up and saw that the game shows as updated to the new version. In my case, it found the correct location easily, but it is as Vincent described.
Version 1.05 also has patch notes placed in the revised readme.txt in that folder it is directed to patch into. There you will see a note saying that it is now able to be modded. So most likely any mods will require this patch.
It also explains in detail the many fixes, balance adjustments, AI changes, and feature adjustments. It seems to be a very significant patch with around 50-100 changes, if you don't count the more generic lines as multiple changes.
It also explains a few new hotkeys, it is well worth reading since one never knows if the older manual or the tutorials are updated to match any 1.05 patch changes.

UPDATE:
Just played 3 hours with it, game is working fine and seems well-paced, well-featured, and quite interesting. No crashes at all, great framerate on a mere Intel HD 2500 gpu deskop.
There's a Guide on how to update it also in the Steam Guides area for Knights of Honor.
1. Run the game after installing it to make sure the registry entries are created.
You should have something like this in your Windows registry.
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Black Sea Studios\Knights of Honor]
"InstallDir"="d:\\games\\steam\\steamapps\\common\\knights of honor"
2. Install the patch.
If you keep getting an error message saying tthe game is not installed, you will need to manually add the registry entrie using the Windows Regedit.
- Tested using Windows 8.1 Pro 32bits and a clean install of KoH -
Necro thread booya!!
I had problems installing 1.05 until I started up KoH once through steam to create entries. Drag the exe file into the installation folder and run. Your good to go
