You can't do anything about it nor do you have to.
What you shouldn't do is marrying off your princesses, if you got any, to same size or bigger realms, as they will probably ask for parts of your realm on inheritance.
You will play on as a random lord.

...as far as i recall.

Forgot if you can kill your wife and remarry and if so if that will even help. Maybe..

General production of better/more heirs involves making your king a marshal everytime and leveling him with first priority. Always marry into a muslim nation as muslim women seem to be more fertile and produce more heirs.

As far as what to do in your current situation I'm sorry to say but not much. Hopefully you didn't just conquer half of Europe because most of what you have conquered is going to change to rebel states.
I find it useful to have a couple of highly trained merchants/clerics as your first knights. That way when the king dies without an heir, the throne will go to them and not your marshals, as they have been around longer and are highly skilled. Obviously having your king as a marshal is a bad idea because he will die in time and you'll lose all your progress with them.

But if you use your prince to crush rebel armies and level him up before the king dies and then use him as your hammer for as long as he lives. A marshal could potentially be a "18" star general vs a 5 star merchant or cleric, the marshal at 5 or more stars will produce better and stronger heirs. This is my method anyways and I frequently have near perfect heirs, I got a screen shot on my profile.
