Hmm....
Your post reads as if written by a teenager.
Nope. Your generals can turn into spies later on.
They don't have to be spies/agents from the start.
See that as getting turned into spies by the opposition.
That's why one needs a counterspy doing nothing else and at best a four star one.
A single marshal as spy can make all of them desert.
By the way, the cheat command in the console (return key) for seeing someone be a spy (golden ring, if i recall correctly) is 'showspies'. Enter the same to deactivate it again.
