[TUTORIAL] How to run in HD Fullscreen

Well, im gonna post here a mod and some links that would be very useful, if you want to run this game in HD and Fullscreen. I'm currently using 1600x900, ive got even headache trying to fix this♥♥♥♥♥♥ so, im gonna post my research (aka way to fix) here to help a bit this community. If you have more than 1600x900 or minus you still being able to do it, so if what im saying here doesnt work for you, or you simple can't follow some instructions, sorry bro, i can't help you.

1º Go to ModDB and Download (Ultimate Edition HD 3.0.3) http://www.moddb.com/mods/knights-of-honor-ultimate-mod/downloads

2º At the ModDB Download (Ultimate Edition HD 3.1.0 PATCH) http://www.moddb.com/mods/knights-of-honor-ultimate-mod/downloads

3º Install the first one 3.0.3

4º Install the second one 3.1.0 (yeah, he will give a message saying that you already have the version 3.0.3, just go on and install the 3.1.0)

That's it, you already have it.

But yeah, theres a bunch more of info here, my english isnt very good, so i cant explain well, but im gonna let things easy for you guys find the fixes.

Ok, so lets go to the most important info for who have problems with resolution...

When you guys are done with the installations and blah, blah, blah... You must go to ur Knight of Honor directory, at the Steam folder. You should find a folder called FIX.

At this FIX folder you gonna enter in the FIX #3 then you going to find a program called "dxwnd", execute it. It will open a box which will contain most of game resolutions but it will not work, because you must modify some info at these resolutions.

First of all, you gonna try to find ur resolutions, right? If theres not ur resolution, don't worry, just go on.

Press ur mouse button right in over (example: 1600x900 - Please %appdata%) then click in modify, you gonna see another box with more info, so, now you just go ahead and edit some info.

At the "Path" option, you should designate your game directory, thats the most important thing, lol.

Then, you gonna see a bunch of boxes that you can mark or no, im currently running my game at "Only Fullscreen", so, yeah, you can mark if you want, but you don't want, simple mark the "Run in Window".

You gonna see "Position", thats the second most important one, you should write ur computer resolution, in my case, its already filled with my info, 1600x900. Then, at the right select "Desktop work area", if doesnt fit well for you, just go changing this one.

\/ If you gonna run ur game at the Fullscreen YOU MUST DO IT BELOW. \/

Change to the "Input" tab, you gonna see a bunch of options, you should unmark "Correct mouse position","Force cursor clipping","Keep cursor within window","Keep cursor fixed".

If you don't unmark these options, when you run ur game at Fullscreen, ur mouse will bug at the Campaign.

Anyway, thats it at all. Just don't forget to change the name of the config at the "Main" tab, for you resolutions, then you will be able to see which is ur config more easly.

So... Thats it. If you still looking for a fix, trust me... Just go on and check other tabs of this program, its really useful, maybe you gonna find ur fix at it.

Thanks, it worked although it only lets me choose 1024x768 resolution when I launch the game. Anyway I can now play full screen and play the tutorial. Other downside I noticed, is that afeter exiting the game, my desktop is downscaled to the game resolution: 1024x768 :-]

Omg why is this so convoluted?

Important with any modding of this game: RUN IT ONCE IN VANILLA, before doing anything else. It has to create some files first. Otherwise you run into problems.

All I did was running this HD patch, available as a standalone download on the Ultimate Edition moddb page:

You give it the path to your game directory and it patches the game to the newest version and applies the resolution of your choosing (e.g. 1920x1080).
That's it. The game works, menus may look off since they use art assets not made for 1920x1080.

You can then add any mod offering art assets for higher resolutions (e.g. the Ultimate Edition mod you posted).

I personally combine it with the newest economic expansion mod for some fixes + lore friendly expansion of some gameplay aspects. Ultimate edition is a bit too extreme.

After all this time it finally worked, the trick was that after downloading the game first run it once to create a profile, then download and install both updates as you've mentioned then it's all good from there!
