Steamdeck support?
Hey devs, does the game run on the Steamdeck?
Have you made any tests on it?
Does it have built in controller support for the deck?

Thanks!

We strive to make the game playable on Steam Deck, and we are making steps towards that end as part of our optimization efforts; but at the moment we cannot guarantee when it is going to happen. We will make sure to notify everyone here on Steam as well as on our Discord server and of course, the compatibility information will be displayed on the storepage.

If you are interested in playing Stygian: Outer Gods on your Steam Deck, please wishlist the game so you don’t miss the announcement in the future.

Steam Deck.
Anyone tried it yet? How'd it go? Also, there's nothing on ProtonDB as of posting this just before anyone feels like pointing out that I should have checked there :lunar2019smilingpig:
I'll probably be buying it just because it looks awesome. If nobody else reports in before then, I will.

Steam Deck compatibility
This game looks awesome & I really want to buy, but all I have to play on is a SteamDeck. Has anyone been able to play this on the Deck without any issues?? TIA

8FPS on main menu, navigating was a nightmare, BUT- it does seem to run well natively using a controller scheme, so that's good.

I've tried relaunching a few times now, and it locks up entirely during the initial loading screen after selecting a new game and the difficulty.

I'd say, as it is now, don't purchase it for use on the Steam Deck. Clearly as an Early Access Game, things will change with time and updates, so keep hopeful for now.

I'm just going to stream it from my main desktop to my Deck for now and primarily play on my gaming tower.

Thanks for taking the plunge. Have you tried running it with different versions of Proton?

Appreciate the insight

Good question. I'm curious about that as well. What Proton do you typically run?

I'd not experimented since it launched into the main game, usually that means it's got the best chance of success, however...

Proton Experimental - Same result, but loading screen went to 0FPS before crashing.

Proton Hotfix - Same result, but FPS during the loading screen bounces all over from 3 to 60, ultimately crashing like before.

Proton9-5 - Same result

Proton8-30 - Wouldn't even launch, and was given this error - "DirectX 12 is not supported on your system. Try running without the -dx12 or -3d12 command line argument."

Proton 8.0-5 - Wouldn't even launch, and was given this error - "DirectX 12 is not supported on your system. Try running without the -dx12 or -3d12 command line argument."

Proton 7.0-6 - Wouldn't even launch, and was given this error - "DirectX 12 is not supported on your system. Try running without the -dx12 or -3d12 command line argument."

Proton 6.3-8 - Wouldn't even launch, and was given this error - "DirectX 12 is not supported on your system. Try running without the -dx12 or -3d12 command line argument."

Just for funsies...

Proton 3.16-9 - Wouldn't even try to launch.

TL;DR - Looks like nothing is working currently, but again, it's Early Access, so we're going to be getting some updates and patches and whatnot. Maybe if we keep our collective fingers crossed, we'll get Deck compatibility before long.

I noticed there's an 'auto-detect' graphics setting, but even after trying it on the Deck, no change.

Wow, I wasn't expecting such a detailed report! Really appreciate it mate!

I guess we'll be waiting for official support from the devs, if it ever happens.
No worries, just wish I had some success to report back. Keep an eye on those updates!
I also have a SD. I’ve decided to go Day 1 on full version, but EAccess is just not possible i think, and i’d spoil myself the game i think. Can’t wait!!

Steam Deck support
Can anyone confirm if this runs on steam deck? considering to buy
This Will Never Work Normally On Steam Deck 💁‍♂️🤦‍♂️Steam Deck's Performance Is Similar To My AM3+ And I Can't Get Normal Stable 40 FPS With That (With Disabled Most Effects) In 1920x1080 😆💀
