Why publisher didn't work anymore with Cultic games.
Are you sure tho? I mean yes the studio name is different but a dev can just disband a studio and start a new one under a different name to shake off a bad reputation. I don't have the time or care enough to research the two studio's but I wouldn't be surprised if the previous studio disbanded and they made a new one. They even have the same publisher.
To clarify things, Stygian: Reign of the Old Ones was developed by Cultic Games. Stygian: Outer Gods is being developed by Misterial Games, a different development team. Both games were / are being published by Fulqrum Publishing.
Stygian: Reign of the Old Ones is a finished game; it came out as a 1.0 and received multiple patches after the launch. If it's the ending of the story that concerns you, it was done this way in order to not rush the final chapters of the game, and leave an intentionally open ending, so that the story could be further explored in a sequel. Sadly, this plan didn't work out.
I'm linking a statement that Cultic Games published after releasing the initial game, with further details:
https://store.steampowered.com/news/app/779290/view/1580125491787858159?l=english
And the story ends suddenly. It was clearly abandoned by publisher/IP owner Fulqrum Publishing, which cut funding and told them to quickly improvise barebones ending.
Which is a shame, because game itself had potential and devs (Cultic Games studio from Turkey) were clearly talented.
I wouldn't be suprised if they do the same to these new devs (Misterial Games) and the game will be abandoned and unfinished/rushed in the same way.
I'm sorrry dear Fulqrum representative, but I don't trust you guys anymore.
I know that it's not your fault FQ_Dom;, you are just a PR/marketing guy, so I wish you a good day.
