Passive Bond Perks

I'm currently wondering; Are the passive bond perks only active while you paire with the corresponding characters?

From what I can tell, yes.

I'm not sure... I've been testing it out by trying to poison enemies with Amon's Stab. In over 20 battles, not one was poisoned.
I don't think the passives work without the right paires. Either that I was extreamly unlucky with the proc.

The poison only triggers rarely even in the right party. I'll pay more attention myself.

I can now confirm that the passive bond perks only work when you are paired with the correct characters. After gaining Taika's/Amon's 3rd bond level, pawsing pain, which gives +25% magic def, the bonus only applies when I am correctly paired.
