Stealing worth it?

So yeah is it worth it to use the extra time in combat to steal against normal enemies? Only a few hours into the game, and havent started crafting yet(seems to be mostely crafting stuff u get) and just wanted to hear if the stuff u steal is a must for crafting or you can easily do without?

You can quite easily do without it, I stole for a while but I found that i made very few talents until I hit higher levels, at which point I had a lot of materials just from killing stuff. Also you'll have an assload of cash at the end of the game and you can just buy it.

I think you can probably do without it. If you're fighting low-level enemies for their materials anyway, sure you might as well steal, but in tough fights, it's too dangerous to do and isn't worth it. Almost everything I've been able to steal can be bought in Frogboy's shop anyway.

And the precious item Core which I might want to steal doesn't seem to be something that can be stolen from enemies, just dropped.

Stealing in this game is complete ♥♥♥♥, seriously. The success rate is so low, it's incredibly bad. Good luck trying to steal everything from a boss, especially from something as cheap as the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ GobKing. For ♥♥♥♥♥ sake, what kind of sadists designed this?

To put it into perspective: I just spent about 20 rounds stealing with Amon from the GobKing to get all the items and none were in any way unique or rare. So it's a complete waste of time and only makes battles unnecessarily harder.

I've gotten some useful stuff from bosses. I don't think it's really worth it on the regular monsters, but you can get some much-needed coins at low levels if you steal regularly from them. I've been using just about all my money to buy a few missing items for Talents from Frogboy's shop (just missing those elemental cores, mostly) and tons and tons of bottles of water for healing potions.
