Having trouble understanding bonding
1. How do I change bonding so different characters start bonding with each other?

2. What does the bonding option in the menu do? I can switch characters, and switch partners, but nothing seems to happen and it doesn't stick to what I select. Also, changing characters brings up a list of different abilities, most are greyed out. What is all this?

Bonding is very poorly explained in the game, at least for me. Maybe I'm dumb.

3. How do you level up your bonding? What does this do?

4. How do you switch bonding so different characters start bonding with each other?

Thanks!

1. The "Pairs" tab in the esc menu
2. The "bonding" option allows you to see the different passives your characters gain through bonding
3. You level up your bonding by having your characters fight together/support eachother with spells
4. The "Pairs" tab allows you to pair up your characters and this allows them to start gaining bonding exp, eventually gaining the bond levels through battling

Thank you. So, in the "Pairs" tab, do you just move the two team members that you want to start bonding to the top two slots? Is there any way to bond other members besides the top two in that page?

Well the two top members are a pair and the two just below are the second pair (granted you have 4 members in your party obviously).
It becomes a lot more obvious when they reach at least level 1 bond (which honestly happen very quickly).

My biggest question about the system is whether the bonuses are still active when the pairs is not formed or these bonuses work only if the pair is in effect ?

Ok, thanks. I only have three in my team so far.

1. I can't tell if I've leveled up any bonds yet. How can I tell?

2. Also - does it matter what order the two bonded team members are in, e.g. I have Amon at the top and Olia second, with Gnart third in my character order in the upper left of the screen.

Does it matter if I switch it so Olia is at the top and Amon is second? Will they gain bonding differently depending on the order of the two bonded members?

3. Every time I fill up my bonding meter, it seems like I am only able to use Olia's taunt skill as the super bonding skill. I can never use her super attacks, and Amon doesn't seem to ever get a chance to use his super bonding skills. What am I doing wrong, please?

I think I have everything else mostly figured out, but this bonding thing is very poorly explained in the game, and is confusing. Either that or I'm just dense.

When they gain a bond level a star will show between the characters, and order doesn't matter, the top 2 are a pair ad the bottom 2 are a pair. The bonus effects are only active when in a pair. Olia only seems to have the taunt as a super as far as I've seen and I'm not sure why you can't use Amons ability, you might need a level of bond before you can use it.

Thank you, Thite!

I think the Pairs menu needs a better visual indicator of how to setup the pairs. From playing other JRPGs, I hate to assume that just because someone is in slot 2 that they're automatically paired with slot 1, for example. The Bonding menu shows the bond icon with stars between the Paired individuals....why not on the Pairs menu as well?

I think Bonding was explained decently, but how to actually pair people wasn't.

I also think that it's poorly explained and confusing to implement. I figured it out eventually but it took a long time. And why doesn't Olia have any super skill other than taunt?
