PlayStation®VR2 App

PlayStation®VR2 App

Display not showing on headset - either black or indicating to look at monitor.
Hi all; would really appreciate some assistance with the PSVR2/PC adapter :)

When I run the steamVR app i get the headset and controllers connecting ok. Then running the PSVR2 app on steam it goes through the set up; but the display on the headset isn't showing correctly. When I have the headset on I either see a graphic that indicates to me to take off the headset and look at the monitor screen, or I see black only.

This is the stage where the app instructions (via the monitor) have instructed me to put on the headset and tighten it etc, up to the point where I hold the controllers and aim at the 'next' button to proceed (can't proceed past this point).

I have a RTX 3070 ti with displayport 1.4a x2
My bluetooth is 5.3 with a TP link + adapter.

I'm wondering if perhaps my display port cable isn't 1.4 but I have no way to check - for now I've ordered a new short 1.4 DP cable to see if that will fix. But would really appreciate any other ideas otherwise I'm fresh out :(

Have you used iVRY at any point ? These drivers need to be removed thoroughly for they interfere to the point of it not working at all.

I've never used iVRY

I have a similar experience. It's been recommended to me by someone else who also had the same issue, to purchase a DIsplayport 2.1 cable instead of the recommended 1.4 because it fixed it for him. I'll be getting the 2.1 cable later today and will test.

Thanks, if you can let me know how you go. If my new DP cable doesnt fix it I might try the 2.1

I've had to switch both displayports and usb slots multiple times. It seems quite picky. check the little steamvr widget to make sure it isn't saying that it isn't getting a signal. Even unplugging and replugging into the same ports has worked for me

I just got my cable, but haven't tried it yet. Because someone posted this solution:
"Go to where you installed Steam and look for Steam.exe. Right-click -> Properties. Under the Compatibility tab, make sure "Run this program as an administrator" is checked. Once I did that, I restarted Steam, launched the psvr2 app, and i could finally get to the playarea testing screen".
If this is working for anyone, please post. It's not working for me though so I'm going to test it with the 2.1 BP cable and the Asus BT 500 adapter.
EDIT: The 2.1 cable and the BT 500 makes no difference (with or without administrator). There's nothing left for me to try. I've purchased, and RETURNED hundreds, really thousands of dollars of PC hardware trying to get this VR2 adapter working. I'm surprised Amazon is still allowing me to constantly return items.

I got mine to work with the confirmed 1.4 display port cable. Seemed to fix.

I managed to solve the problem by installing the driver located in the folder C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\PlayStation VR2 App\Driver. If it installed in a different path, just find the folder where Steam is installed and follow the rest of the path. It worked for me after that.
The name of the file is installer_x64
If this resolves the issue for you, let me know here.

The driver installed extremely quickly, am I right (So quick I can't read the second page)? Perhaps it was already installed? Either way, it unfortunately made no difference. Edit: just noticed it says it did not update because it's not better than what's already installed.

Instead of writing the same thing for 10 days, in 12 different topics, maybe you might consider reading the answer and following the tips.

I thought you were a kid, but you've had a steam account for 19 years. None of us will do it instead of you, because no one is sitting in front of your monitor.
