In SteamVR status toolbar > Developer > Developer Settings > Click "Enable Direct Display Mode" button.
- The play area setup can be done from the PlayStation VR2 application, there is a "..." menu, if you expand that and select the clear and then it will allow you to create it again.
You will need to make sure your room has appropriate lighting and you aren't facing directly at a window or there aren't any light sources facing directly at the front of the headset as that causes issues. So it shouldn't be too dark, or bright.
- If the issues continue, it might be easier to uninstall SteamVR and PlayStation VR2 application and restart the machine.
Then start SteamVR as administrator and install SteamVR before the PlayStation VR2 application and then complete the configuration of the PlayStation VR2 application.
- In the SteamVR settings menu, click the OpenXR tab, and if the API doesn't display "SteamVR" click the "Set SteamVR as the OpenXR runtime".
Click the link "Manage OpenXR API Layers (x Active)"
If there are any items listed, for example;
- OpenXR toolkit API layer
- Compatibility layer for OculusXR Plugin
... and any additional items.
Disable all of these and click "Close".
Thank you. The external hubs can introduce compatibility issues with the PSVR2, but it's awesome it fixed the issue in your configuration. I've seen this come up about twice on reddit, and they were unable to resolve it with updating the bios and reinstalling drivers etc.
Which model USB 3 hub worked?

I had it lying around as it was not in active use. Thankful for it as I was pulling my hair out trying to get to my PSVR2 sorted.
Awesome, I'll update Reddit! Thanks
Did you only have the headset connected to this hub? (When it worked).
Did you have a keyboard or display that has USB 3.0 ports built into it?
Thanks. I added this feedback to reddit HELP! is the psvr2 completely incompatible with the asus b350 plus motherboard? they had a keyboard that had a USB port connected to it. When connected to the keyboard the headset was recognized as a 3.0 device but was limited to 2.1 speeds. When they connected it directly, it was doing only 2.0 speeds. That issue has appeared several times, perhaps it can be fixed with a PlayStation VR2 driver update?
