Function button not working, stuck during setup
I have an Asus Zephyrus M GU502GU laptop, which meets all the minimum requirements to run the PSVR2. I purchased the adapter and a DisplayPort to USB-C cable (since this laptop has DisplayPort 1.4 on USB-C), and I’ve installed both SteamVR and the PlayStation VR2 app. Everything seemed fine until I reached the setup screen that asks to press the function button, but it just doesn't work. The button works perfectly on my PS5, so it’s not a hardware issue.
I've tried:
Uninstalling and reinstalling both SteamVR and the PSVR2 app
Upgrading from Windows 10 to Windows 11
Updating the GPU drivers
Testing all three USB ports
Replacing the DisplayPort cable.
At this point i don't know what to try. If anyone has any suggestions or insights, I’d really appreciate the help.

"You can take a look here if you want, maybe you'll find a clue that will lead you to something:

(Start here if you have problems (controllers, app, other tips).)

Many people wrote that they had a sufficient computer. But they didn't understand that this was not true. Maybe start by stating the specs, because you're maybe one of them. You won't believe how many people don't understand what kind of computer they have.

Most of the other problems are solved in the link."

I see that you meet the basic requirements, but you can read the less obvious ones again, maybe you will spot something.

There are several posts about laptops on this forum, you can review them.

But the most interesting is the topic with an almost identical title to yours.
Where people insist that they have a sufficient computer, and this is not true.
So maybe start by checking your bios settings to see if you have extended CPU instructions enabled.
Because your CPU seems to support avx2.

From the PlayStation VR2 support site:

Must have a dedicated Mini DisplayPort™ or standard DisplayPort™ output port. DisplayPort™ over USB Type-C® is not compatible with your PlayStation®VR2 PC adapter.

Of course you are right.
But I guess ***some*** laptops will work via usb-c.

It will depend on how the mux in the laptop is built. Probably very few laptops will have the right mux class, because it is difficult and expensive, and it is impossible to write it on the price tag in the store.

Of course, checking the block diagram laptop motherboard is a great idea.
But I would start with avx2.

edit:
A proven, recommended, good quality usb-c adapter is also required

Maybe that's the problem. but isn't the displayport just for the video transmisson?

Thank you for answering. I checked my BIOS settings and under the advanced settings the "Intel virtualization technology" and "Intel AES-NI" are both enabled, is this what you were talking about?

Also i've read again the requirements and i didn't find anything

I can't find that option in my BIOS even in the advanced settings...

I was having this problem during my initial setup. I noticed holding function to go back always worked. I was about to give up but I turned the headset off and back on and it all worked great. Got through the setup and am in the SteamVR menu.
