I have the same issue as this person.
We are getting this message:
Check USB connection.
* Connect the PC PS VR2 adapter to a USB port that supports USB 3.0 or higher.
* Use the USB port on your PC, and avoid using a USB hub.
* Connect your VR headset with its power off, then turn it on after connecting.
My PC only has USB 3.1 and 3.2. Nothing lower.
Anyone else having this issue?
I think some of the ports on my board are on an internal hub, and some are on the main root hub, and it matters for some reason.
The USB 3.1/3.2/3.0 doesn't matter. Aside from USB 3.2 Gen2 (10Gbps), it's all the same...USB 3.0, 3.1, 3.2 gen1 it's the same, and should work on 10Gbps ports too. It should work in just about any 3.x port no problem....unless maybe it's on a hub.
Thanks TrueBelieber for your message but it unfortunately didn't work for me (however, I advise people with this problem to check in the device manager if the USB 3.0 port is blocked to save power... in this case it should be reactivated).
@Im_Mister_Pink, there is a solution that works to overcome our blockage : (Thanks to "r/PSVR" who proposed this solution on reddit.com !)
"To fix that, go to Device Manager (in Menu Start just type device manager), and find the Universal Serial Bus devices. There should be a number of devices starting with PS VR2: Control, 1 through 9, Status..
Double click any of those devices, I suggest you go from top to bottom. If Manufacturer says "Sony Corp." you have iVRy driver in use. It should say "Sony Interactive Entertainment Inc.".
To fix this, you will need to go one by one:
- Double click on the device
- Go to Driver tab
- Click Uninstall device
- Make sure to mark the "Delete the driver software for this device" checkbox..
- Click OK.
The device will now be gone from the tree, go back to 1.
With all done, disconnect your headset and connect it again. Verify that you now see Sony Interactive Entertainment Inc. under all devices."
Now dude, welcome to the next problem, PSVR2 controllers "turned on and recognized on the PC but of course not by the PSVR2 app."
See you soon, everyone, for the continuation of the PSVR2's amazing adventure on PC !
As for the problem of the controllers not being recognized by the application even though they were connected, I was able to resolve this with the Bluetooth antenna (by removing the wires, screwing them back on slightly and moving the antenna as far as possible).
For those who don't have antennas, I recommend downloading the most recent drivers from the manufacturer's website (even if your PC says you have the latest drivers).
Don't give up the fight against all those installation problems, because the PSVR2 on steam is really awesome (Half-Life: Alyx is amazing!).
May the force be with you!
I'm glad you were able to fix this problem too. I hope this will help others who find themselves stuck at this level.
