Yup the Snapdragon XR2 chipset in the Quest 2 & Pico 4 can only process so much data before it craps itself. This happens if you set the the decode bitrate to high. Around 250 mbit if i remember correctly. Quest 3 has a newer gen snapdragon chipset and go a little higher.
Quest 3 boast on a sticker in the store with powerful, improved graphics (at level 1050 ti).
But for some reason they don't mention cpu. A strange thing
I admit that the quest 2 is an amazing device at a great price.
The Quest 3 also has its advantages, such as faster wifi which allows you to send a better quality image from your computer.
But I prefer pc vr so I prefer vr kits on cable.
And here ps vr2 is a real masterpiece when it comes to value for money.
Interesting opinion.
In fact, if for someone, the preview cameras, are so important, it is better to buy the quest 3.
Fresnel lenses have a small sweet spot, it's obvious, they don't have only advantages.
I would also prefer controllers with AA batteries.
In my opinion, you can't blame ps vr2 for the lack of amd graphics card features either.
Let everyone buy what's better for them, I choose ps vr2, quest 3 doesn't interest me.
If you want a mobile phone replacement, buy a Quest 3. The Quest 3 was not designed for gaming but replacing your phone and replacing what you see IRL.
If you want the best VR gaming headset, get a PSVR2.
Simple as that.
My heart is in complete agreement with you, but we cannot ignore the facts.
The Quest 3 also copes perfectly with vr games for the phone, there is a large selection of them, and although they are often at the level of pc vr games from 2016, for a portable device it does perfectly.
Ps vr 2 is also not the best pc vr headset, there are better vr goggles.
But for this money, this is what the quest 2 used to be, at this price you won't get anything even close to this parameters and quality.
If you were looking for an oled set on a cable, and you didn't have a bag of gold, your dreams came true.
And the quest 2, let's not forget about the quest 2, it's not very far behind the quest 3 and we can get it for ridiculously low money.
If you want to see what VR is, it's still a great proposition. It's better to buy quest 2 than to buy nothing.
Just look at it this way. You either already invested into VR and got a quest or like many others got a pc and a ps5. i bought the psvr2 day 1 and never regret it and now on top got a whole new library of games to play due to pc compatibility.
Sure, a wireless experience is more convenient, especially if you can do certain things standalone without a pc. Going through HL Alyx with the good OLED screen of the psvr2 is just nice.
If that wasn't clear, I'm not a fan of quest sets.
I have a vr set on a cable from the beginning, and it's oled.
Of course, the colors in alyx will be much better, but oled shine the most in games like the:

(Scanner Sombre)
Recently I was surprised how beautiful the cave in the dlc for kayak vr mirage is, when we watch it in oled (It's a tiny cave, don't buy an dlc specifically for it)
https://store.steampowered.com/app/2926750/Kayak_VR_Mirage__Soca_Valley_including_whitewater/
(Kayak VR: Mirage - Soča Valley (including whitewater))
Storm at night is also impressive (dlc not needed)
I'm sorry, maybe I'm saying this unnecessarily. But it's all so beautiful, that I couldn't stop.
It's very sad, this game on oled shines.
But check again, there was some strange method of moving.
Maybe like in the oldest VR games, to teleport you have to point your hand in the direction and press L3 / R3 or something similar. (i.e. press the knob)
edit:
Also, make sure that the game on the monitor has active focus.

(Tyriel Wood - VR Tech :)
(THROUGH THE LENSES - PSVR2 PC Adapter vs Valve INDEX vs Reverb G2)
Comparison: ps vr2, index, reverb g2
oled ; lcd ; lcd
Each of the sets has Fresnel lenses
The filmmaker himself says that such a comparison makes no sense because the camera sees differently than the human eye.
Most of the video is just a few, mostly still images from games recorded with a camera.
Most people will watch the movie on lcd, not on oled !!! (So won't see the difference in colors).
A short summary that doesn't add much.
But sure, if you like your g2, there's no reason to replace them.
If you give links to videos, maybe at least paste the title too.
PSVR2 has a much wider field of view. OLED crushes G2 as well.
But if you can't afford a PSVR2, it's understandable.
Other than that, the LCD was pretty good in terms of colors and blacks. Better than the q3 for sure.
