Dear Winter Wolves: Breza (Spoilers)

Been playing about a week now (about 25 - 30 hours), and having a blast with the story and gameplay. I have some nitpicks -- boy, that Forceful dialogue option is a coin toss in terms of getting the exact opposite of what I'm going for -- but overall, I'm so happy about this newfangled genre I've discovered; Overwhelmingly so when I consider all the years I figured games like this didn't exist anywhere.

But if I'd had my way, maybe it's just me but I would have explored things with Breza rather than become adversarial toward her. Though true, the way I'm playing, Saren has really warmed up to Loren by Chapter 2; But I never would have chosen for Saren to become adversarial toward Breza so quickly -- quite the opposite! If an option to begin pursuing Breza had been there, Saren might actually not be falling for Loren! (It's a tough call, I'll admit.)

Saren is often the voice of reason after all, and I've always had a good hunch about Breza's motivations -- even more so after Karen deflected Saren's accusatory tone at the beginning of Chapter 2 (an accusatory tone that, IMO, is more characteristic of Loren, rather than my playthrough's version of Saren).

Which is why I find Breza quite intriguing, but I guess it's not meant to be. My suspicion right now is that she has conflicting ethical motivations, but wants to do the right thing, even at personal cost; which is very attractive! (And a staple of super hero stories too, actually.) Maybe in the end I'll discover that I was wrong about Breza ... but I doubt it!

I like Breza's character. In my recently released game Cursed Lands you discover what happened to her when she was just a kid (won't say for spoilers) and in Loren 2 she'll be a (yuri only obviously) romance option :)

So thaaat's why I can't pursue her with Saren (blush). I just looked the term 'yuri' up on Wikipedia; please excuse my ignorance about the jargon! I'm still confused about whether it's the same as saying 'lesbian' or if there's just a lot of overlap between the two terms. (Are they interchangeable or no?)

Saren hehe, he should be quite used to it: if most men in Amazon society are only viewed as procreation tools, that of course means most Amazon women are lesbian, because Man/Woman intimacy is viewed with intolerance.

Are 'Cursed Lands' and 'Seasons of the Wolf' the only games based in Aravorn right now?

You'll be able to romance Breza as Elenor only in Loren 2, not Loren.
Besides Cursed Lands and SOTW there is also Queen Of Thieves, Amber's Magic Shop, Spirited Heart and Heirs & Graces set in Aravorn. Only the first one is a RPG though.

Ah, I see, thank you for the answers. So good to hear there will be a Loren 2.

The Citadel is a woman's world, after all -- and like I said, Saren should be quite used to it.

Something to think about for Loren 2, just a suggestion, is to give the male character the option to try ... and of course be turned down ... and of course be chastised regarding how unacceptable his advances are in such a society. Besides being story setup material, it could also go a long way toward keeping dumb oafs like me from wanting to make forum posts like this in the first place.

Loren had to get pretty firm with Saren, too, in Chapter One (Grimoire Tavern/Inn).

Well I also did it to avoid going insane :D For a small indie like me doing games of 250-300,000 words long with 8+ love interest is already a big big effort. If I had to allow all possible romance combos, Loren 2 would never be finished (I'm already late by 5 years with it...)

I can imagine! I have a lot of sympathy for you, also a lot of praise. Chapter One of Loren made me a fan, and the stakes in Chapter Two are a hundred times higher.
