i saw a video where you could play offline co-op, so i'm pretty sure it's still a thing.

They did have a local co-op survival mode set up at PAX East 2014. I remember playing it with a couple of friends.

Then it worries me that the front page only says single player.

I really wish it had online though.

There was a stretch goal for "Co-Op Campaign! Competitive mode as well!" that was met during the Kickstarter campaign. I haven't heard that they abandoned goals (except for the Wii U port which is not decided yet), so it's probably in the game.

The store page now says, "Players: Single-player, Local Co-op". I own it and I haven't noticed any way to get local co-op, so it's fair to say the co-op isn't out yet.

I also noticed a lot of scenes in trailer and art-work which I simply haven't seen in-game... Did I forget to mention I've beaten the end boss... where's the rest of the content? was it scrapped. I need more of this beautiful game.

I think that devs want to concentrate on bugs for the moment rather then on thé coop mode.

Is that trailer on the steam store? I don't not see anything in them that I couldn't vaguely recall from my time playing.

No, it states multiplayer, and co-op. co-op and local co-op are two different things. So the store page is flat out misleading if there is only local co-op.
