Sure that one require the "Dashing shield" to do the way, but yeah, it's confined for challenge ^^
Like only the West available at start and you need an upgrade or specific skills to go in to the North etc...
Well Hyper Light Drifter has made the choice to get an open space and then some particular abilities to reach secret ^^
Given how much content the devs already cut, i'm pretty sure it isn't feasible to add the level of detail and content that you want.
Same reply, I like the fact that the game isn't linear. Metroid isn't linear, either. You can usually go two different paths at a time, although you might need to get an item first.
The game have the mechanics to do some kind of things, like lazer rifles allowing to open some locked gates, Dashing shield to go trough bullets (similar to the Shield of link, to go trough fire) etc... But yeah, like >:( says, it is a dev choice or (maybe) not possible for the creator (maybe require more time, skills, prog or whatever)
SO the mechanics DOES exist, just not used like a metoidvania ^^'
