Dash Challenge
So I've decided to start a challenge to see who can get the highest counter for dash combos. Be a good sport, don't use a macro, and be honest.

Anyways two different classes to this challenge, there is the dash lap combo and the dash line combo.
Dash lap combo is the harder of course because you are going around in laps.
Dash line is easier because you can just hover your mouse and tap spacebar to a steady beat.

Anyways I will go ahead and start things off with my records.
Dash Line - 1609
Dash Lap - 451

Yeah the line dash is more of an endurance thing which is always fun. However I think the real challenge will be getting high scores on the lap dash, as that takes actual skill and concentration.

Finished the challenge and decided to see how far i could get.
Decided i would stop at 2000 when i glanced away for a second and slammed into a wall.

As far as i can tell you just have to time the button presses right.
Only help i can really offer is that when you do manage to use the skill try to time your button presses to the sound of the dashing.

The first two dashes seem to start up the dash chain so like |...|..|.|.|.| etc.
and it's a lot easier if you time your dashes for right when the redness of your character during the dash stops. If your going for the purple armor I'd suggest switching to keyboard and mouse controls and just do the line method

So what I've found is that you have to get the timing right. The first few dashes are like a wind up, with each interval between button presses being shorter than the last. After you get past the wind up time it remains the same relativily (around 240bpm) and its much easier. Practice, thats all it takes. Litterally I had to fight the West boss around 100 times on New Game + before I was good enough to beat the bastard.
yes !! seconds after reading the explanations about dashing, i beat the 2 dash chalenges in a few tryes only, and got my clothe working !

I think it's actually around 257 bpm; 30 fps with a 7 frame pacing gives 257.14 bpm. The game has some leeway in the input window, which is probably why ppl are doing well with 128 bpm songs and double tapping for each beat.

Songs with similar beats? Oh, I just listened to a bunch of stuff that wasn't anywhere near those bpm's LOL

I went to a website that calculated bpm from space bar taps and entered the closest rhythm I used from muscle memory, and it came out around 258 bpm, so I think the 257 calculation is probably not too far off. Other fractions that divided into 30 fps came out to either 225 bpm (too low) or 300 bpm (too high).
