Nausicaa vibes anyone?
Does anyone else think the atmosphere is similar to Nausicaa. Haven't finished the game yet but the post apocalyptic(maybe?) setting, the giants you see scattered across the world, the blue theme going on with both main chracters, and I just recently found out that the Drifter is a girl.

Nausicaa is one of my favorite movies and just thought I'd share some parallels I saw between it and this great game.

What other movies, games, or shows do you guys see in this game? lets talk.

I couldn't agree more with you on the Nausicaa (My favorite Miyazaki film as well) parallels! I also thought the Drifter's encounter in the opening battle with the shadow demon was reminiscent of Ashitaka and the corruption he gets after fighting the demon in Princess Mononoke. I like the idea that the devs might be Hayao Miyazaki fans.

Nausicaa for sure, but this game lets me wonder how beautiful a game with the art direction of Tsutomu Nihei would be

No problem!
you seeing the resemblance without knowing Nausicaä was indeed a major design influence is quite cool, because it means they obviously succeeded :)

Where did you come up with this? I don't think there were any concrete mention of gender in the game.

I saw it in a couple of post here a few times but I don't think it has been stated any where.

Man if you reed Nausicaa's, which I definitely reccomend, you'll see even more similarities. The giants are most definitely pulled out Nausicaa's universe, no doubt, and even the balck sort of formless/antropomorph demon thing following you around is deeply rooted in Myazaki (the Studio Ghibli one) imaginary. Plus the Drifter helmet is practically identical to the one Nausicaa wears!
There's definitely a Nausicaa vibe, but there's definitely a feeling of Adventure Time in the game's atmosphere too. Even thanks Pen Ward in the credits.

I noticed this the instant I got the game, and I love it. Everything about it just exudes Nausicaa vibes, which is amazing.

I'm so happy the devs took inspiration from it.

There's one game that still in development but has a lot of Nausicaa vibes. It's called Aegis Defenders and it's here on Steam Greenlight. I thought you might be interested in this one ;)

bruh it has dawned upon me to enlighten the rest of the world with my idea WHAT IF threre was a nausicaa themed survival game. there are 4 biomes the toxic jungle, desert , grasslands and ocean. explore a vast open world and get ganked by dudes riding horseclaws and heavy torumekian armor or ride around the ocean like a seaplane pirate like in porco rosso or imagine gunning down helpless playes as you blast them on your gunship or live deep in the forest in peace protected by waves of insects. :/ but its just a thought

I just got the game from the humble bundle and will play it the next days. When I saw just the two trailer videos, I immediately had to think of Nausicaa - which is actually one of my favorite movies overall! Looking forward to play it soon.
