Any tricks for West boss?

I saw that the East boss had a trick to killing him, just want to know if West boss has one as well, as I have not found anything yet.

i tried him first. dont do that. east is best for starter.
you NEED dash upgrade to be quicker.
the shotgun you get from east boss is also really good so that you get 3-5 hits in melee just per shotgun shot.
all in all, i'd say west boss is the hardest of the game.

get chain dash first, makes the fight a lot easier. The thing to winning this fight is your shotgun, fire your shots as close as possible to him then dodge away, dodge his sword attacks (usually 2 or 3 in a row) then get a hit in to charge your shotgun, do the dame for his bullets which is 2 shots then a third delayed attack. keep doing this while killing the runts as soon as possible and you should get it down pretty easy.

Have him follow you and attack his own minions trapped in the crystals, he'll swing his sword but you can use that to hit his minions in the crystals. As you lower his health he will break them out, but if he attacks them then he has no way of summoning them. Also, when it comes to reflecting his projectiles, it was best for me to dodge the first two and then reflect the third because it was all on its own.

Wow. Ok then. I went West first and after dying a bunch was able to beat West boss just following his pattern. The key for me was to not give him the chance to get his minions in. After his icicle slam and 3 energy ball projectiles, dash in there and hit him a couple times. He'll skip bringing in minions and go straight to double slashes (or triple if you've worn him down). I also made the habit of only striking twice before getting out. You can do 3+ but to me it was too risky. Take your time and be disiplined. Don't try to get a swipe in because you think you see an opening. Stick to your pattern. Not letting him call for help also gives you viable windows to heal when he's doing his stationary attacks. Don't try to heal otherwise.

His melee attacks leave him exposed for a very short amount of time but it was enough for me to quickly dash in and use the shotgun pointblank or use a powered up sword charge, also it makes it a lot easier when you trick him into smashing his own minions in their suspended/frozen state. :P

They are quite tough towards the end, as in they'll kill you a lot... but I think by then you start knowing what to look out for with regard to finding weaknesses. They still are satisfying to kill though. :P

Thanks for the help guys, after about 20 mins, I finally beat him! I thought at first something to do with his minions would stun him, just like in the East boss. I never figured to just git gud and attack him after his slash attacks.

I think most of the things that can be said about this fight have already been said. In my opinion, it is critical to clear the East section first (for the shotgun) and to upgrade both the shotgun and the dash. If you've cleared both the East and the North and have enough bits to spare, the ability to slash projectiles lets you get in even more hits. This was the setup I used, and compared to my first attempt at the boss (with no shotgun and no upgrades), the difference was night and day.

Try to kill him as quickly as possible, the longer you wait the more the odds are stacked against you. When hes chasing you, after his 2/3 swings he pauses long enough to get up to 3 hits in between his attacks. After that unload your pistol while his doing his crystal attack. I was able to 14+ hits in on him per attack cycle.

I did north first and then West and didn't really have any trouble on either. I did die a lot on the north boss, but it was just a matter of learning patterns and making good use of the rail gun.

The west boss is easier than the north boss. Just dash away from his double/triple slashes, spamming your gun as much as possible and using heavy slash when he starts conjuring crystals. I beat him with only one add summoned on my 3rd or 4th try.

I haven't done East yet. My very first file I did East first and found it too hard and then quit for a year. I just restarted yesterday and did North first, and it felt way more reasonable. I think North is the intended first path, even though the boss is harder than West, just judging by the trash mobs. They're all so easy, especially compared to what I went through on East a year or two ago.

lol, first i've beaten north boss with no upgrades. then i've beaten west boss with chain dash and dash shield. guess east area gonna be walk in the park for me now
