I can't even fill up the bar in the room to the right of where you buy the dash upgrade without my guy just randomly sliding to a stop despite my timing being absolutely perfect. Made it to 82 dashes circling that damn thing in the middle and my guy just slides to a stop, or he occasionally (rarely) shoots off in some direction nearly completely opposite of my stick, into a wall. I am absolutely in the zone (I find it best to focus on the platform in the middle, and visually blur out the guy just so you can follow his trail enough to avoid walls), perfectly calm, and still, slides to a stop for no evident reason whatsoever. Very very disheartening to have this happen when you're really calm and focused, and eventually very frustrating. I gave up on that ♥♥♥♥.
But there's a door that requires 800? Ridiculous. They need to tone down the precision requirement just a tad or tighten up the button detection/delay. The detect/delay is so minute too, that it's not even really noticeable in any other aspect, combat or otherwise. But when trying for this dash just 0.01 seconds off and you lose your ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ combo.
I'm certain eventually I will do it, but it won't be because I got better or got the hang of it.
