The Soundtrack sucks ... :(
I loved Disasterpeace work on Fez and It Follows.
A really talented guy.

... But what the hell is this game soundtrack ?
It kinda sucks imo ...

It's an Action/Adventure game, it should have catchy and epic theme song with nice melodies.

Here we have an hypnotizing, zen, study soundtrack.
It doesn't fit the game at all.

The musics makes me want to sleep.

Am I the only one who is a bit disapointed by this OST ?
I just played a few hours, is the whole game soundtrack like this ?

Well, I quite like it. There are some epic moments here and there. Have you tried a boss fight ?

I'm not a fan of it either

Hm that's gotta be rough. I love it.

the music is astonishing and fits the theme perfectly. Post apocalyptive wasteland to discover

I dont need a happy and upbeat soundtrack for a game about a guy who is slowly dying from a disease and is going through every place in the entire world to find a cure for it.

And that's your opinion...

...I think the soundtrack is most epic.

I've only played a small amount, but I'm not a big fan of it either so far. It fits, sure, but it doesn't do any more for me than just fit. Otherwise, I'm finding it a bit dull. As said, I'm early in so maybe it'll pick up for me.

It works in the bits where I'm just looking around and not doing much. But I feel like it could do with some more fast paced music when the action is happening.

What's missing for me is a bit of variety. I mean, I dig the ambient groove of the overworld themes, but there is almost no shift in mood between those themes and the boss fights (at least so far). It's almost as if the watchwwords for the soundtrack were 'laconic' and 'lento'.

The game's theme isn't super upbeat. It's going for a hauntingly beautiful ascetic and the music complements it perfectly.

Fez may have had more catchy hooks and melodies, but I don't really consider this to be 'music' so much as ambient pieces, and at that I think it excels. It's disappointing to some in that it evokes memories of Fez (reusing a great many of the same sound patches), so that expectation is unwittingly set. Personally, it's so sombre that I can't imagine anything else quite fitting.

I know what you mean but I think it fits the mood better when its all ambient

Usually when the music kicks in other games you get this feeling of power etc.
My expecience with HLD is that the game wants to make you feel weak and small compared to the cruel world. So its no power fantasy and the music fits that great
