Purple Gem Door?

So I got the four purple things in the northern area. The things you pull up from the floor. That includes the massive one after the boss, and the fourth one in the dark tunnels that opens up later. I opened up the door to the boss area fine, and I assume the door just above it would be the same. It has a picture of the four pink/purple segments on it, and shows my four segments next to it, but it's not letting me open it. Is this a bug, or am I supposed to do something else first? I'd take a screenshot but I'm on GOG and I can't get it to work.

I'm having the same issues with multiple doors, not sure if this is a bug or if we have to do something else.

There doesnt seem to be any rhyme or reason, some of the doors I can open fine with the correct amount of shards/gems/whatever and others arent allowing me, like the 4 gem door in the north.

Those doors might want all of the purple pieces, looks like there is 8 pieces in total which makes a square. So maybe it wants the full 8 pieces.

I thought of that, but there aren't any more pieces in that section of the map, and the door only shows the inner 4 pieces. So who knows.

Is it the door near the boss on the right side (down the stairs and down some ledges)? Because I am pretty sure it has the 4 symbols an then the extra 4 around them. I don't remember sorry lol. There is new game + so maybe thats a new game plus area only? Not sure.

I managed to get 5 pieces on my first playthrough and didn't bother looking for more. So there must be 8 there.

I looked at it again and I think you're right. It's confusing because the outer 4 aren't coloured in, so I assumed they weren't important.

I've no idea where to get another 4 pieces though, I thought I'd been everywhere and I can't see any more on the map.

I don't think they are on the map, they are hidden away. I'll be sure to look for them on my next playthrough to see if there is 8, I know there is 5 at least.

Also I believe they are not coloured in because you don't have them yet. :)

Hi, how did you pass the second moving block in the dark tunnel? I'm looking for the fourth gem but can't figure how to pass this block on the right of the area...

I have the same issue in the eastern area on the map. There is a 4 gem door, I have 4 gems and it won't open. I don't know if it's bugged or if I am missing something. However, I did open am earlier 3 gem door just fine. And I double checked if I had 4 gems for the other door. So is it bugged or am I an idiot ?

Ok I'm a idiot I think. Like mentioned by echo nine there are four more pieces needed. So 8 in total right? I'll know for sure when I find a 5th piece.
